All that watermelon Smirnoff better be leading to dumb college girls making bad decisions with you.
Nah man, he's not that low of a person.
Sitting in the OR waiting room and some old dude has his phone out watching videos loud as hell. If I had headphones on me I'd fucking choke him with them.
I hate that.
I was on the subway last week or two weeks ago and a woman got on and sat down in front of me. She pulls out her phone and starts watching something that sounds like kids screaming at the top of their lungs and then she starts crying. She just keeps rewatching it for like 10 minutes on loop until she got off.
Despite the crying, I gave her a death stare the entire time.
Oh God lol, he's now watching pro Trump videos and the old lady sitting near him got up and walked to the other side of the room.
A true hero.
CS been biking shaming me a bunch lately on top of my own desire to start going further and faster so looks like I might need to start looking into a new bike.
I love my Specialized and it's done a good job taking a beating commuting to and from work for these last few years and a few accidents but I've reached the limits of what I can do on an all aluminum, flat handle bar, wide tire hybrid lol. Especially since it's getting older and there is probably maintenance I should've been doing on it but don't know about... like some bearings are probably not the best shape especially around the crank set. Luckily it seems there are types of road bikes that address some of the concerns that led me to get a hybrid in the first place
tips for calling into customer service:
- introduce yourself when you call. when you meet someone at a party and they introduce themselves, do you just start talking? no, you say "oh hi, I'm [name]." it's common sense.
- if you have someone on speaker phone, say so. when we're halfway through the call and other people start popping in without introducing themselves - again, that's just plain rude. you would never do that in a personal situation; don't do it in a customer service situation.
it boggles my mind to this day how many basic, basic rules of etiquette get dropped entirely when in a customer service situation.
the upside is that the less fucks I give, the better I get at passively-aggressively enforcing these rules. I literally just told someone "in the future, please introduce yourself if you're on speaker phone - as a sign of respect. thanks!" turns out you can say damn near anything and get away with it if you say it in the right tone![]()
Only thing worse are people that have headphones on, and the shit is still so loud you can clearly make out what they are listening to.
Fail today is explaining to a vendor why county purchasing regulations make me go through a re-seller instead of purchasing direct from the company. Fucking asshole basically implied I was lying and was about 5 seconds away from being hung up on.
Making good time riding home and see the light I normally have to wait at is green. I mean yesterday not only did I have to wait but somehow traffic was backed up 3 blocks back and street is narrow enough and people are oblivious enough right there that not really safe to pass so I have to let the light change 4 times. But today green a good block out so start speeding up to around 25 mph... just to have it go yellow at a point close enough where I'd definitely start crossing the street after red but not far enough away to really completely down shift and had to hit brakes hard. Whatever first in line I got this.... last guy on opposite side of the intersection making a left turn before his light goes red and mine goes green is a 2 trailer semi who decided it's a wonderful idea to start this turn at the end of a yellow light so he'd finish a good 15-20 seconds after the red. Whatever I'll go right after him... except 3 cards decided to hug his tail so close they couldn't be seen till he finished his turn and then since the biker next to me just went without a car in the world they ended up stopping midturn in the middle of the intersection in my way. So here they are yelling at the idiot biker. I'm here yelling at them because they all ran a light so red mine is turning yellow and I'm pretty sure the lady in the last car is one of our bitchier customers. Also ended up making pretty meh time
Found out my 12 year old niece is getting bullied at school. Going tomorrow myself because the brother-in-law, her father, is a chicken shit beta faggot. I have zero fucking tolerance for this shit, when I was growing up I never once hesitated to defend my little brother or sister.
you gotta beat up the parent like true detective
Tested out our gas fireplace today. Works great. I've been wondering for awhile now, though, if it can also take wood. A quick google search tells me I need to look up the manual to see if the vent/pipes/ etc. can handle wood. Go to find the model number to look it up, I can only find the brand and a number on the damper handle, but that number is not listed on the site anywhere as a model number and there is no contact info to email and ask.
Also when I google the number I only find one other post with someone who had the same problem in 2008 lol
Legs almost locked up/cramped (both of them) during cardio today, which means I'll have to take a day off
Been hitting them hard, too
One of my younger cousins works in a bank. They just got a new feature where you can upload a photo of your own to be printed on the debit card. Yeah, you can see where this is going. She proudly uploaded to FB a picture of her new cute card with a picture of her dog on it, name, numbers, expiration date and all. Cue my aunt freaking out on her about it drawing more attention to it. I thought this shit only happened in Internet memes, but today I saw it first hand.
