Holy shit Bane that's crazy!! I'm so glad you are okay , I can't even imagine. Your car will need to go to a body shop first likely and contact your insurance asap if you haven't already.

For us at least we won't touch the car until it's been seen/repaired by a body shop and found structurally sound first before looking into actual repairs of anything else, but we are a dealership so I'm unsure if that's different at independent shops.

Document everything and take photos too before doing anything.

yeah, I didn't shut off the engine until i'd actually driven it onto the tow truck's lifter thingy. so I don't think there's any damage to the motor; it started right back up just fine every time I needed it to. i'm worried about brake lines and whatnot, though they seemed fine driving from the tow shop home (maybe 2 miles). definitely gonna have the whole car looked at. it's only about 3k short of it's 120k checkup anyway so I might just wrap it into that. Dunno, gonna talk to my parents and do what they tell me, haha. they know how to do this stuff, and it's still technically their car anyway.

hah! no, I didn't get his information because I wasn't involved in the crash directly, I simply hit some debris. I do, however, have a case number to give Insurance if I do end up making a claim. I asked the cops what all I would need for insurance, and that's what they told me.

I've gone ahead and scheduled my 120k checkup for Monday, and the maintenance guy made a note in the file to check the undercarriage for damage. I'll also remind them about it when I'm there. I do have a pretty large deductible, iirc, so I may end up not making a claim at all. I suspect it will depend on whether I want to have the body damage repaired or not. I haven't looked at it in daylight yet, but I suspect not. I'd LIKE to have it fixed, but from what I could tell last night, the damage from this is actually less noticeable than the damage from what I can only assume was a random asshole who backed into my parked car and drove off. and, unfortunately, the new damage is on the opposite side of the car, so fixing one won't fix the other. and shit's expensive.

That is odd I would suspect that his insurance would have covered it since it was his fault that the shit he was towing scattered across the road and that is what you hit but I guess I don't know that much about insurance.

My fail is I've only gotten through 8 follow up calls already sent 3 manager follow up emails for the same service person, ugh. And still waiting on follow up from a concern over a week ago. Aaaaand have to work tomorrow since I missed Monday, FML.

If the other person is at fault, their insurance covers your deductible.

Been getting kind of cold at night lately so brought out actually blanket when I sleep. Wake up last early this morning and it's hot as fuck. Wtf weather... check outside and sure enough it's pouring buckets.

Also I'm learning that pretty much no matter how late I go to bed/fall asleep my body is automatically going to wake up at around 7-8am even on the weekends.
