I can't disagree with anything said here and since eating keto/low carb most of the time now I definitely metabolize alcohol of any type including wine faster than when I began over 25 years ago.
I do admit I have a preference for sweet drinks but have expanded somewhat over the years. I just need to deal with it or change my patterns![]()
Keto makes you get drunk faster and makes your hangovers FAR worse.
I haven't done a ton of heavy drinking since I started but I did do a nice round of wine tastings a few months ago it didn't seem to get drunk that fast and no hangover. gf had a little bit harder time but she's on keto because she's prediabetic so was more her blood sugar acting up
And before anyone goes lolwine we did 8 wineries (well some of them were just wine bars setup by the winery since weird zoning/taxing didn't let them do tastings out of city limits where the actually winery was without paying tons. god was amazing having 4 on the same block right next to each other) with each one doing 2 oz samples of 4-6 wines that were 14-20% ABV. Not exactly a drinking record for me but still a decent amount of alcohol
A friend is having her birthday celebration today; her birthday is actually Sunday. She decided she wanted to do karaoke in Midtown, because for some dumb reason she always does all this shit in Midtown.
Today is my actual birthday, not like her fake birthday, and I fucking hate karaoke. I don't want to go, but apparently my wife told her we wouldn't be able to make it to her thing if it were Saturday or Sunday because we're going away for the weekend for my birthday. Apparently this friend decided to schedule her shit around our schedule and made it tonight.
I don't want to go; I wanted to go to our friends' show in Brooklyn. My wife told me we can't because our friend apparently made a reservation for a room with the two of us included in her head count. Which goes back to the beginning of this rant and continues in an endless cycle.
I wouldn't say I was hung over that following day. I just had absolutely no energy to do anything. I'm probably the better pacer between the two of us unless people are just funneling me drinks non stop. Then again, 99.9% of the time if I drink, I only have 1-2 tops as I have to drive.
Karaoke was never fun. You're mistaken.
Hate to break it to you, but that wasn't the karaoke.
clearly you've never heard Zetanio belt out Love is a Battlefield
Bah coworker is gone on vacation for a little over 2 weeks. Comes back and immediately takes a few days off sick. He's the one that is some insane germophobe/hypochondriac so now he's back and wiping down all the desks, walls, doors, windows and floor with Clorox. Continues to claim making us breath in Clorox fumes will definitely keep us healthier because there was definitely some scary nasty germs hiding up on the top of the door waiting to jump down and get us or something. Mind you he already passed it on to half the other people that work here which apparently was why the boss had the heat up yesterday
I haven't. He just sits and laughs as I wander the streets around his office building trying to find him.
In IMAX theatre with mostly 40-50 year olds bitching that IMAX is too loud . WTF go away and watch it in normal then FFS.
