I would imagine it doesn't need to be on all the time, I'd cut it off especially before leaving for work, I never leave my AC on when I'm at work and it doesn't take that long for it to get cool again.

In this scenario I always will sleep, because I see food as fuel, and I don't need any fuel when sleeping lol. I see it as a waste of food!
