Somehow this new and "improved" bing maps has incorrectly changed some street names slightly and is too dumb to figure out what I mean. Namely I was looking for Sky Ranch Dr. And it has now decided to call it Skyranch rd. Even better after I figured out it changed dr. to rd. it still couldn't figure out Sky Ranch = Skyranch <.<. Also is having a hard time figuring out third means 3rd and sometimes that st. means street but also sometimes can't figure out street means st. It's wildly inconsistent in which it accepts and doesn't. But somehow this is better now... also laggy as fuck now after you have more than 10 stops or so

Finally got around to making the free turkey I got from work and while basting the first time , my hand slipped and burned the base of my first two fingers. Nothing horrible but enough that it welted up and looks worse than it feels. At least the turkey was delicious.

Honestly I grew up helping my mom cook for many years and it was always part of the process so I'll still do it. Though reading yesterday how to cook turkey I was surprised to see it's not necessary and many people advised not to.

All I know is it was delicious and the pain from the burn is non existent today at least.

GF's cat just died

I loved that thing, she was extra feisty and playful despite being 18.5 years old. Past few days she has been doing super bad. I think she must've gotten sick or something and was just too old to handle it. Got to see her last night to say goodbye at least but this really sucks.

I'm so sorry it's never easy to go through and I dread the day any of my three leave me. I'm actually a bit worried about my middle one as I've noticed some lumps near her nipples/stomach but she doesn't seem in any pain, has been quite active and eating/drinking/ using litter box normal but do feel guilty I don't have pet insurance or enough to cover costly visits, ugh.

It was free with a voucher from work and got a pre-brined one from Trader Joe's. We have such limited space to work with that anything that cuts down on prep helps. But once I have a house may look into it lol

He doesn't want to because he doesn't want customers to see we aren't open some days and be discouraged from coming... on days we aren't open.... despite the fact our website and yelp say the correct times

In all my years I don't think my family has ever baked/basted/stuffed a turkey for the holidays. Maybe it's a regional thing? We've always either smoked or deep fried our turkeys.

My mom was from new England but we lived in Florida most my life. I never even heard of frying/smoking turkeys until I was living in Michigan in 2002-2006, and fried turkey is amazing.

I still prefer traditional way I prepared ours but it's always interesting to see other variations.

Forgot to post this saturday, but had my biggest letdown as an Uber driver saturday. Get pinged to pick someone up in a residential area where the home price median is about 3.5million. Pull up to the house and i'm thinking ok maybe holiday party with a bunch of drunk rich people. House has a huge fucking fountain in front, house was probably worth in the 5+ million dollar range. Nope, picking up a teenage kid to take him home after visiting his high school gf all day. My dream of a potential large tip shattered.

It's kind of weird because he's fairly smart in some things. But he also gets strange ideas in his head that can never be changed. Basically the epitome of can't teach an old dog new tricks. In this case it's a matter of him believing he has to treat customers way better than any business that he uses would ever treat him in order to keep customers. Like somehow our business is unique and requires more despite us basically having an area monopoly (no one for quiet a distance lets you come to the business for walk ins). I'm like this isn't a mom and pop shop from when you were a kid and all your customers were also your friends and you'd treat them like friends in order to keep them coming.
