Wall o'text inc (sorry, but I need to vent so badly):
I've mentioned it before but my sister loves drama and loves to blame everyone else for her problems and married a shitty husband who I like to say is verbally violent (99.9% sure he's never hit their kids, but loves to bark real loud and be an all around douchebag asshole). My mom lives in CT, and they live in the next town over, whereas I live in Cali so can't do all that much. Anyway, my sister and her husband for the longest time didn't work. They would try to do silly little stuff for income (sell Wow gold, start like an esty-type thing, etc.), but nothing consistent. The husband's father is actually who bought their home, and they've basically been living off retirement (too proud for welfare, which I'd be fine with it if were for the fact that they have three kids).
Oldest child is exhibiting some of the husband's violent behavior and has an IEP. Sister's town sucks for IEP kids, and my mom's town is really good. So for about two months now my sister and her kids have been living at my mom's Mon-Thurs so the kids could be enrolled at her school. My mom is a 6th grade teacher there and even got my sister a teacher's aide job. My sister actually was a teacher maybe ten years ago for about 5 years. My mom is retiring this year and even tried to convince her boss to hire my sister to take her place.
As I mentioned, my sister loves drama, and can be really vindictive and over sensitive. Apparently there are parent-teacher conferences tomorrow and my sister got into some sort of fight with the secretary at the school because she wanted to meet at X time which was too late for the teacher or something. Some of my mom's coworkers told her there was a fight, so she texted my sister being pretty innocent to the whole thing. "I heard there was an issue with [secretary], what happened?" Sister flipped the ever living fuck out of my mom. Blamed my mom for making the school against her...When she was fucking trying to get the school to hire her, right? That the school was racist to my sister's skin color (...we're white). etc. etc.
Sister and husband ended up coming to my mom's to take the kids away, husband also did his big bully thing screaming at my mom that this was all her fault etc. Later on, sister came back to get all the stuff saying my mom can no longer see the kids and they were going to move back to their home's school district.
Like, they are shitheads. My mom knows this, but she wants to see the grandkids. She is terrified that when the grandfather dies they will end up homeless. And honestly, even with knowing my sister is a shithead, she's still my mom's daughter. I wouldn't know what I would do if my kids acted this way. And I know my mom loves her grandkids so much, it's like killing her from the stress of worrying about them.
And I can't even do anything. If I yell at my sister, she'll just take it out on my mom, and my sister is not worth it. I want my mom to come here, and she won't. And I hate that, too. She would have a restful retirement here, she would have my kids as grandkids to play with. She would never be treated disrespectfully, and never has been when she's come to visit, so she knows that. But she's got it stuck in her head that CT is her home. But even if she were happy there, the weather is not good for her health. I keep bringing up the friends she has who have retired to the south, but she just won't budge. It does hurt. I get it, in the sense that she knows her grandkids here are in good hands, so she has to worry about the grandkids there. But I don't want her to have a heart attack.
