Woke up early so I could adult hard. Grocery store, gym, etc. Planned it out so I would have just enough time to get all this done.
Get through the line at the grocery store, "oh sorry our credit card system is down."
MOTHER FUCKER. You couldn't have told me that at the door? You couldn't have told me that while I was waiting in line for ten minutes? Thanks for wasting my time and fucking up my whole schedule, dicktards.
Always bring more than 1 form of payment.
This happened in a McDonald's I went to recently. They were super-crowded over a lunch hour and it was noisy in there, so there was really no way to know until after you got to the cashier and placed your order. After the cashier told me they were down, I asked for the manager. When he came out, I asked why they don't have signs or something to let people know, as I had just wasted 15 minutes standing in line.
His response was, verbatim: "It makes the restaurant look weak, posting signs that we're down. Start carrying cash."
I was pretty much stunned.
I usually carry 40-60 on me in cash just in case, but it does look bad if there are no signs posted.
Cash is for the black market and certain gifts.
Carry two forms of payment = carry cash. How often you see that personal check at a grocery store or gas station nowadays
Two forms? You mean MasterCard, VISA, and AMEX right?
Seriously I was thinking card #1, card #2.
I always carry like 100 in cash unless I'm going to Fossil park to workout. Don't like doing cardio w/ my wallet jangling around in my pocket, so I just take one debit w/ me (I put my ipod in a ziplock so i don't sweat all over it, so I just toss the card in the bag w/ that)
My wife and I went to buy a bunch of stuff for a remodel we are doing on our house. Spent 2.5 hours shopping and picking out items then right as we are getting ready to check out the whole store has to shut down because their internet went down and they don't take checks. Cash/Card only but they couldn't take card. Shit sucked. They were nice enough though to let my son and I hang out while she went to the atm to draw out $500 cash to pay for everything.
What a pain in the ass though.
I never have cash on me unless I know I'm going to a restaurant/bar/strip club so I can tip.
Well that was a profound exchange.
