yea you have to be careful about when to spend the points. Got to maximize that point/dollar value. spending points on international direct flights at convenient times on a real (no spirit, frontier, etc bullshit) airline generally saves hundreds to thousands of dollars.

in 2015 I took out an american airlines card because it came with 50k points. just enough for first class round trip tix to my besties bachelor party in vegas during peak travel time.

First world problem and a cosigning to fuck Ebay. Ordered 600$ camera lens, requiring a signature, was delivered to wrong address(an apartment lobby at that), no one signed for it. Tried to go through ebay to get my money back, company said toobadbruh lens was delivered according to UPS, ebay sided with them and case was closed. I got vintage camera lenses from fucking Ukraine in the middle of a war with 0 hassle whatsoever and quick shipping.

So looks like might be losing the new guy. Just didn't show up yesterday. Called a few times until gf finally picked up and said he was sick. Called later to see if he'd come in today and no answers or returned calls/texts and didn't show up.

Meh kind of good riddance. Guy was horrible at the job and then constantly complained about why the part time retired guy whose main duties are running the shop here wasn't going out on routes more.

man, wife and I are getting round trip flights and 5 nights in London at any Marriott off two years worth of taxes that we charged and then paid off immediately because the interest charges are for suckers and waived membership fees are that crack.

there's generally a membership fee but often it will be waived for the first year so you just have to make sure to cancel before then. However I've kept my United and Marriott cards as I often fly united and stay marriott and its worth it to pay the 90 bucks of whatever a year. However once I finally cash out these United points im fuckin done with them. I think. We'll see.

I've paid cash or occasionally debit most my life. no idea what score is but probably a little higher now that my bank upped my CC limit and boosted me to 2% cash back that is even higher shopping online especially at some stores that work thru them and I can use to pay off the balance on it lol. So yeah last year or so been using credit a lot more. Interest still for losers though

Our cable box was crapping out, so my dad decided to get a replacement. Instead of waiting 5 minutes for me to get out of the shower and get it hooked up, he calls the help desk and tries to describe every type of input he is seeing on the tv, cable box, tivo, bluray player, etc so the poor guy can try to tell him what goes where.

Outside of the basic buying something with a card any paying off within a day or 2 for points I haven't carried any debt since... well around when I started playing ffxi right after the NA release. And that time was only because I wanted a computer asap after moving out so had a loan for like 2 months

Been trying to call Comcast to dump my TV service and every phone number I have tried (from my bill, the Comcast website, Google searches) is coming up busy, disconnected, or a recording saying that my call cannot be taken now and to call back later. Get your shit together Bane.

So old guy we shit canned for being a very shitty driver (drove a truck off the road thru a telephone pole and into a tree while speeding) and overall pretty sleazy (pretty sure he stole a bunch of money from a customer and us and definitely does from his roommate who still works for us) and just general tall tale telling has been having constant troubles since then because of himself.

Somehow has managed to get hired and fired a good dozen times in the last year. Keeps getting new vehicles because he has to hide old ones when the repo guys come looking for them... he's gone thru like 3-4 doing that now including one from the place he works for now lol. Anyways he couldn't hide one of the cars since the wif uses it to get around and take kids to school... and guess what was missing today?

Now I found this hilarious myself. But being the kind of guy he is pretty sure he might try to get money the easy way so gotta change our security codes and maybe keys around here.

I have this coworker that is like my twin. We like the same movies, play the same games, etc. etc.. Found out today she is planning on moving to a different school next year because she wants to work with younger kids. ;_;


Other fail is, we had PD today all day, and I had planned to grab homework I needed to grade to do it on the weekend. Totally got home and forgot them in my classroom.


[edit] Gonna add another fail: I realize I am going to spend about $20k alone on my daughter's after school care until she's old enough to stay home by herself after school, and thus also stay home with her brother. But hey, that's cheaper than her all-day daycare I was paying for....

Holy fuck how can anyone afford kids in this day and age?! I just can't wrap my head around the cost of it as I'm surrounded by parents at work too and they rattle off their monthly costs to me and I just have to think it must be a labor of love.
That or insanity though maybe it's not that different. I mean I know California is insane with cost of living as I'm in the Bay Area myself but WTF, no wonder parents live for tax season.

I which I could find a cheap (and safe) place that could just watch my kid and let her play for two hours before I get her. All these centers are like, "homework tutoring, backpack cleaners, etc.." I want to do that shit. I LOVE doing that shit with her. I don't need to pay for these services. And with recess cutbacks, it's more important to me that she gets free play time.

But oddly enough the babysitting rates would be more expensive.

Basically, no way to make it cheaper unless I can convince a relative to stay with us during the week, and we are too far away from anyone for that to ever happen.

after-school programs? I went to 'em when I was a kid. a few teachers stayed late, rolled a bunch of karts full of toys and a couple tables into the gym, let us fool around and/or organized activities for a couple hours until our parents could come get us. dunno if it cost my parents anything.

or maybe extra-curriculars? sign her up for a lego club or something? just enough to kill those two hours. probably way cheaper than babysitting or whatever. my lego group charged I think $20 a kid.

Trying to find stuff but definitely no go on afterschool care at school, which is the first time I have ever seen that. A lot of programs like clubs are for 3rd grade and up. So might be possible in the future, but not the first few years.
