I like to run my AC as seldom as possible in the summer, both in my vehicle and house. I think it started cause I wanted all I could get out of those four cylinders in my 240SX.
Cold is easy, get some good gear. Heat is easy here in the US, although that Pliocene we're now living will certainly show us new extremes.
Dude defending cold is taking more of a cold extreme and comparing it to a less extreme heat I feel. -40C vs 35C, I'll take that hundred degrees all day just cause I can. -40C vs 45C, give me that cold please. We experienced 51C in the Omo region in Ethiopia, and now Florida or Texas heat is easy peasy. I've only experienced -33C or so for my coldest extreme, cold enough to know it quickly gets unbearable outside but also that such temps are less common than hundred-degree days for these latitudes.
Although for full disclosure, I moved from humidity to the high desert cause dry heat is the best.
I spoke in both Celsius and Fahrenheit for the Canadians.
