I feel like throwing up. Supervisor in my group's daily meeting straight up asked if anyone wants to take some of his responsibilities. No pay increase, no title change, just take some of his responsibilities. Ugh I should report this to his boss and see what he says.
Too good to be true job turned into just that. Store director pulled the okey-doke on me regarding what the job really was. Thankfully the medical billing and coding class I originally cancelled is letting me in even though it's week 3.
I'm also considering using additional ammo against him. I was working with one of the "Bobs from Office Space"-type guys a few years back trying to find cost savings in our process. We had a moment where he asked me to close the door to his office and asked "What the hell does your supervisor do that adds value to the process?" We both agreed that he added no value and all the technicians did his work. He left before he could do anything to fix the problem. Still, that's quite damning if a BoB says that about a supervisor. Ugh this is gonna be one long talk with the manager and may escalate this to a director if this shit doesn't get resolved.
Making a big, probably life-changing move tomorrow and feeling nothing but extreme melancholy. Bleh.
So before I left on vacation I worked ahead and trained someone else how to do a lot of the stuff.... come back most of it is either not done or done wrong or he didn't notice where other people fucked it up and it's all mixed together and even stuff I pre did got messed up somehow. So basically it's worse then if I had just left it with no one to work on it so I have like a week catch up/redoing of things to do at work
This is seriously a common trend here on BG - I really can't understand how incompetent people not only get but keep their jobs. Meanwhile I just got back myself for the last days of my current job and sorted through 800 emails while I was gone and only 1/4 of online requests were handled. Have fun with that guys.
My buddy and I were talking about this specifically within the auto dealer industry. It's as if those who try the least get all the passes and rewards while those that put 110% in get shitted on the most. He's struggling with staying at MINI but doesn't have a clear path on where to go because he's tired of the drama dealerships bring.
That's because dealerships are an outmoded form of sales. The lots are a waste of space and the predatory sales methods are borderline illegal.
Also, competence is about 60% of a job. The other 40% is networking and personal presentation. 50% competence + 100% other is still 65% overall.
I agree. My friend is the parts manager so he's not necessarily directly effected by sales, but somewhat is by service. However, he states that it's morally deflating watching the nonsense that goes on every day. Side note to piggyback on sales methods, the department store I just left wanted us to sell the store credit card as a "rewards card" and use the exact verbiage, "Are you earning your rewards today? If not we can get that going today for you." Never outright saying it's a credit card unless asked. During my interview I was told I was being brought on because of my sales experience and to help the associates learn better sales techniques. When questioning the sales methods presented by corporate, I was told it must be said in that way because that's what corporate wants. Noped right the fuck out. I'm not going to be that sales guy. Would rather work minimum wage while finishing my certs and degree that be that piece of shit salesman.
To be fair it's not completely his fault. Well the guy who was covering for me. I normally handle 90% of the desk work myself with boss doing a little mostly with entering new customers or call ins since he handles the phone. So this guy who normally does other stuff had to be trained up in the last week and then thrown into it without having a bunch of practice as that would've seriously killed how much I was able to get done ahead of time more so then it already did. The problems that he couldn't handle because people couldn't fill out paper properly by people having done this for years totally those peoples faults. And of course having to run the store too because we so swamped and one guy had his license suspended that the guy normally doing it has to go out also fucks with my ability to catch up
