Also, I would love to adopt. There's millions of kids out there that need homes and I would in a heartbeat. My wife wants our own though, but I would love to find some Chinese kid that's pretty much guaranteed to be a doctor or something lol. Some of those kids are so damn cute too. I feel like 90% of adopted kids I see are great looking kids.

My point was that if someone like myself or countless others that have decided they don't want kids - why should that option be argued?
Why is there so much resistance or needing to meet age requirements or having kids first ?

I just don't believe that any doctors' personal views or thoughts should have the power to influence or reject someone's personal choices.
While I do think they have a responsibility to discuss all the options, ultimately it should be our right to decide if we want to go through with it.
If they don't want to then they can refer me to someone who will. As soon as some things are settled here I'm getting sterilized myself and only reason I waited is because of possible cancer previously and they wouldn't do it here unless I was over 35 since I never had any kids.
I was ready almost 10 years ago.

I learned recently that in Michigan (Ypsilanti specifically) St. Joseph's hospital will not perform a c-section because they only believe in natural birth. It's crazy to me that in today's world people cannot make requests on their own when paying for a service due to the service providers personal beliefs. While I do get it that the person seeking the service can look elsewhere, when talking about a hospital I think that they should do what the patient wants.

In some states, if a child dies due to the fact the parents practice faith healing and refuse to take their child to the doctor, the state can't bring charges against the parents.

There's pretty much every reason to push people towards natural births and deny medically unjustified requests for C-sections.

However, room still must be made for medically justified exceptions.

I can bet you somewhere down the line someone changed their minds (or got a new partner that wanted kids) and convinced a lawyer they didn't really fully grasp what they were doing at the time and sued the hospital/doctors

Yeah I'm sure that's likely one of many circumstances just kind of sucks still for those that have made up their minds. I still get people telling me I'm going to change my mind - I think that bothers me the most.

Daughter woke up and fell on two steps about an hour ago. Thinking over the event for a bit and I am pretty certain she was sleep walking. She was rather confused and incoherent, but had to use the bathroom. She has a bathroom attached to her room so there was no reason to head for the stairs. I am thinking her body wanted her up, but didn't get her awake enough to know what to do properly. She used to get night terrors and her reaction seemed similar without the screaming. Thankfully it was only two steps, but it could get worse if she does it again.

It's not just about "you" wanting to be sterilized, it's also a doctor and his hands physically, and usually permanently, taking your ability to reproduce away. That is no small favor to ask, regardless of how you feel about having kids. I imagine if there was a regimen of pills that would accomplish the same if you take them daily for like 6 months, they'd "allow" it more frequently than typical sterilization procedures.

We've been told stories of people who had a DNR, then when they're having an attack or episode are begging to be resuscitated.

My car is stuck in our warehouse and the garage door won't open. I went to pull my car out and the door wouldn't open, but I heard the motor for the door running. The guy working in there said he heard a loud snap and the motor just keeps running and that he let the guy that runs the shop know.

I squeezed through a fence we have in there to split the warehouse in two and stopped the motor to try to open it manually with the chain. The chain moves, but the door doesn't go up.

I have a feeling the guy that runs the shop didn't actually call anyone about it despite being told earlier, as when I mentioned it he went "uh... they should be here soon yeah" and immediately started dialing something on his phone and avoided looking at me.

Wife (cna) recently had a code blue on a DNR. Wife (power of attorney) at first didn't say anything but all the sudden freaked out and said resuscitate. She said it was extremely stressful for everyone involved.

My own fail today that I still sometimes let people get to me. E.g. letting a know it all so far up their own ass bother me (stated her company, Tenneco, is better off than State Farm). It really stems from the fact it's my (now) sort of friend's wife, who was originally my friend first, is unbearable. She's a know it all control freak who is never wrong and he's a spineless wimp. I don't want to judge people or think negatively, and at times I want to be fair and think maybe it's me, but I know deep down in reality it is them. Reflecting my daily life, the older I get the more I like keeping to myself when it comes to socializing.

Just started new job Monday - have had an itchy/tender throat last few days but figured it was my allergies kicking in. Decided to use a flashlight to look in mirror and my tonsils are swollen to fuck more than usual and white stuff all over them and having a little trouble swallowing liquids now. FUUUUCK.

Only reason I still have them as an adult is because my mom didn't want me to have surgery as a kid but wish they did remove them earlier because of my constant sore throats.

They've almost always been enlarged and I've asked about removal as an adult but it's considered non essential, however with this now I might not have a choice..
