Got our copies of Pokemon X and Y a day early, but since we moved last week we didn't realize that our 3DS hadn't been charged, and now we have to wait to play >< We've only got the 1 3DS right now too, we're going to trade in one of our old DS Lite systems for credit towards a new 3DS (which is something the store is going to offer for a limited time starting tomorrow). I want my ninja frog T.T

The one we're going to trade in has been broken for over a year anyway ^^; We kept it in case we would be able to use it for parts to repair our other DS Lite, but I think the $30 trade in we'll get at the store will be better now.

Finally got the battery charged on our 3DS XL (Pikachu version) and I had to play a bit myself before I let my daughter play ^^; She had some chores to do before I let her play her copy, and you can bet having that game waiting she got them done in record time. Luckily, I was even able to change the language of the Korean game into English, so I'm not sure I even have to import the US version this time (except perhaps for trading my old critters up from the older games...).

I tried to trade in a DS that didn't power-on, and they wouldn't accept it. Not sure how yours is broken specifically, but they may not take it.

Maybe this doesn't fit here, but I'm pretty sure the guys with more serious health issues post here so this probably fits.

Applied for SSI for gf June of 2012, denied x2, sent in letter for district judge appearance in March of 2013. Hitting some hard times financially ($2500 car bill, gf getting worse so I can't work as many hours, etc.) so applied for food stamps/temp cash assistance through the local government. Temp cash needs proof of her appeal in SSI, so go to SSA office to get something to say we're waiting on it. They haven't heard from us since like, September 2012. They never received the forms we sent via mail, either got lost in the mail or in the office the mail went to. We have to start the whole SSI process over.

Kicker is that some of the "prove your identity" questions have WRONG answers for her, as we (she was with me filling out these questions) got locked out twice from the website answering the questions and now have to go back to the SSA office to get online to do this, and it's closed on Monday...gah.

is she disabled, or applying for disability? all of that shit gets easier once you're on disability. except for county level assistance; they seem to be universally inept. if she is applying for disability i suggest hiring a lawyer. it took a couple years for me to finally get on enough assistance to be independent. food stamps is the hardest because of all the shrill idiots who see things they dont understand and assume fraud. i'm still not on food stamps.

if she doesn't have enough quarters on her own SS, consider applying as an adult child under her parents. that's how I'm receiving my SSI. also, don't rely on the gov. offices to get things right; they lose all competency as soon as you leave the room or hang up the phone. Don't take it out on the individuals helping you, though. They're working in a hopelessly inefficient system. I set up a phone appointment with my county. They somehow managed to come up with three different dates and two different phone numbers, and then missed them all. Another favorite trick is to mail me things that require a response three days before they were mailed.

She is disabled, but not on SSI, yet. We actually both just got on food stamps, so kinda funny how easy it was for us to get on it if you made it onto SSI but not on food stamps. Problem with her parents is they live in VA, and our official documents have her income-less in MD, which gets her free health care (and almost free prescriptions).

I'm more heavily considering the lawyer bit now, to see if I can get backpay from when she first applied, in case they try to do it from when she re-applies here in a few days. Originally didn't think I'd need one because I just need to stop supporting her as we walk up to see a judge and watch her fall on her face and be unable to get up in front of the judge and voila, people can see she's disabled. She'd be a little mad at me for letting that happen, but she'd get over it and she'd finally get on SSI...

That's... not how it works. And SSI is totally different from disability. They're both handled by the Social Securityy Administration, but they're separate programs. Go talk to a lawyer, as they'll be able to explain what you need to do more clearly than I can. Look for one who specializes in disability. Make sure to mention your concern about backpay, as you can claim fairly far back. There's a limit, of course, but its an option. This is a long process, too. Like I said, it took me a couple years. The first year was basically just waiting for my hearing date.

Mainly just the big cities. Smaller communities and Jeju had great looking women without all the fake when I was there a few years ago.
