Random Fail: First World Problems

What the fuck. I went in to apply for graduation from my AA program and I've found that it's still showing some courses as "not met" even though I'm a transfer and needing 0.33 of a credit is not enough reason for me to take an entire class a second time. These were supposed to have been overridden and it's still not done so now I'm "in the queue" for an advisor to call me back, like my whole life is centered around waiting for people.

I'm taking a huge placement test on Friday, pretty sure that's when they'll finally get around to calling me back and I'll get stuck in the queue again. Excellent.

This parent was flat out scared of her kid, a 9 year old.

She called 911 at 8pm(ish) because her kid refused to stop playing outside and to come inside. Of course it was a non-emergency call, so it got held for awhile. A hour later she calls back saying her 9 year old came inside, slugged her over the head with a skateboard then went back outside to play.

I don't even have to use the wooden spoon. Just holding it in my hand is enough to put a stop to the bad behavior. Especially the one with a hole in the center.

My dad made a pretty solid paddle, carved out of wood and painstakingly sanded. That paddle didn't get a lot of use - after the first few times, the threat of it was enough to get my brothers and I to behave. That fucker hurt.

I probably would have turned out better if I'd been paddled a couple times as a kid.

Also, never praise your kid for something they didn't actively accomplish, and never tell them they're smarter or better than you in any way, even if it's true. It makes them lazy.

Just moved, cable guy comes in yesterday to install cable, while looking for the cable wire in the house finds a wire he thinks is it, cuts the wire, realizes it's not the cable! He moves on non-shelantely(sp) like nothings up lol, finishes installing the cable and leaves. I go to work, come back later that night, house is freezing, hmm furnace why you no turn on!! Call Super, they send in HVAC guy, he says no signal from furnace to thermometer, I show him cut wire from previous day, he laughs, wire was from the furnace to the thermometer lol. Stupid ficking Rogers technician

While everyone is throwing out parenting advice I thought I'd share a gem. I'm not exactly sure where I heard this originally, but it goes like this.

Dads, when your son is around 3 or 4 years old, make sure he sees you getting out of the shower once. For the rest of his life, he will swear that his dad had the biggest dick he ever saw.
