hope so.
hope so.
Girlfriend goes home for Thanksgiving, comes home today and breaks up with me. I still have 8 pages of presentation for a paper due tomorrow and now I can't focus.
oh you know there was something that went down. either her family crawled up in her ear or she's been getting some D elsewhere on the side. tough break dude, i hope you're the type who can compartment their thoughts, I've done some of my best work in all aspects on my life as a student, employee, and athlete (be it wrestling or hockey) when under my most significant moments of duress cause I zone in on it to take my head off the true issue eating at me.
I never had a problem with this up until about a month ago, but my laptop started overheating when I play WoW. My old laptop used to do it, so I figured it's kind of normal since this isn't a gaming laptop. I bought a heat-sink with dual fans on it to keep it cool and for a while, I didn't have any problems.
Now, it's started doing it again, even with the heat-sink on at all times when I game. I don't know what the hell else to do with this fucking thing at this point, except keep my apartment near freezing and being uncomfortable for the sake of my laptop ... that's not exactly a fun gaming experience. I will never understand why the fuck the fan I spent money on won't just fucking do what it's supposed to.
I think you're blaming the wrong piece of machinery there. It's very difficult for fans to not do their jobs. Your problem is likely that your laptop's thermal paste has melted and your processor is no longer making good contact with your heat sink or something. I recommend asking the Tech forum.
If that is the case then I'll just be pissed, because this laptop is less than a year old.
Wasn't really planning to ask for a solution because I can't fix it anyway and when laptops go stupid it's better to just purchase another one honestly. Considering getting a desktop. As much as I love playing WoW pretty much anywhere (including lying down on my bed), I wouldn't have this bullshit issue on a desktop.
That sounds like a simple cooling problem. Check the internal fans and the heatsink blades for obstruction from dust. Laptops are just as straight forward as desktops to work on. There are just a lot more screws and smaller parts. Most laptops even have a panel that you can unscrew to clean out the fans and heatsink.
Get a desktop - That laptop should have been for playing WoW while you're out, not full time. WoW at home on a desktop, wow on a laptop in class/road trips/etc.
I'll be completely honest, I straight up hate using a desktop when I'm not at work, which is why I've been reluctant to bite the bullet on it. (Not to mention, buying a desktop will require me to have both a desk and a chair, which also costs money.) That's the entire reason I have two laptops. I can't stand sitting up at a desk when I'm relaxing at home. I don't play WoW that much anymore for this to be an issue, but it pissed me off the last few times I've had a chance to log in.
Promised myself when I started Senior Project for college this term that i would start it early, get it done early, and enjoy the last few weeks stress free.
Nope.
Just now starting on it, 20+ pages, due Wed.
Fucking Senior-itis.
2 of my 4 lab partners haven't done their part of our presentations due Wednesday; only the Jewish kid and myself have completed and submitted our portions. FML
Broke up with my girlfriend because she might be gay. She might be pregnant with my child as well.
