Interviewed for a higher up position at my work in November, went really well, two interviews and such, never got any word on the job, sent a follow up email, never got a reply. Just sent another and found out that I would have gotten the job but my step uncle is a director in the department, making it so I can't work there. HR was supposed to talk to me about why I couldn't work there, but our HR people are terrible. My step uncle and I are friendly but not close, I didn't know it would matter and kind of hoped nobody knew... Oh well FWP.

There's winter and then there's wondering where the fuck global warming is now. I don't think I've had a sub-10 degree high where I live since 4th grade. I think the light bulbs on our outside lights are exploding, too.

It's 33 here, which is very unusual for us, but it doesn't even feel like it's that cold. Maybe it's from living up in PA as long as I did, cold temperatures just don't feel that cold without a buttload of snow.

I'd say the flipside of "it's not the heat, it's the humidity" would be "it's not the cold, it's the wind".

It can be cold as fuck but as long as that cold air is still it's quite tolerable, once it starts gusting and sucking the heat from your very soul is when it becomes a problem.

Yesterday: 53° and rain all day.

Today: not a cloud in the sky and 8° with 30mph winds.

i can actually see how someone might expect it to not rain in mexico. most of what we see of mexico, as americans, is the area immediately along our border- which is mostly desert. not hard to imagine someone being ill-informed enough to expect all of mexico to be like that.

Is the nearest library that far?

(or any commercial printing place for that matter, but unless you're doing some fancy professional printing that would just be a waste of money)
