I had already considered the deductible and was going to go through with it just so I could get that $170 off it for the rest of the year, but I had forgotten about a possible rate increase. So yeah, guess I won't bother contacting my insurance.
I spent the weekend up at NIU, but now I'm back home so I guess we'll see if it really was just an incredibly random act of stupidity or someone's got a real sense of spite if I end up with more flat tires.
I don't know if this counts as fail or not but I just applied to Chopped Canada. Kind of banking on my Transplant story to get on the show. Maybe some Amateur cooking episode or something. Would be neat to do
Can you actually cook?
Yeah. I'm a great cook.
Make sure its valid before you call the cops though, my parents called the cops cause there was snow tracks around the house stopping at the various windows (a prospective burglar, they assumed) when they came home from work last week... yeah.... it was the window cleaners.
You better never move to Florida then. If you didn't like knowing alligators were around, then I guess it wouldn't make you feel any better to know that—when I worked in Property Management there—we regularly had to remove them from people's back yards, and this was in affluent communities. Snakes were also frequently on the menu. Insect infestations were common. It's the poor American's Australia.
As for why I personally detest the state, I unfortunately lived there for two decades. Slow to non-existent economic growth (that is only now starting to improve, after years of being stagnant), piss-poor public transportation, backward health care standards, a lack of varied thriving industries, an education system that's cranking out people who don't go anywhere, two-faced environmental preservation efforts—I could go on, but that sentence was already long enough. Even with all the perks I enjoyed—free access to Disney World, close proximity to Miami and therefore South Beach and the Keys—I'll say without hesitation that Florida is shit. It's not on Montana's level or anything, but I don't particularly believe that picking one pile of shit over another makes much of a difference.
It's been ten years since I moved away. I have only gone back once.
@Myrrh, that would be cool to see. If it falls through, why not look around for cooking classes or cooking positions at places? I recall cooking being something you liked/enjoy, so would be cool to actually have a job with something you take to. SPICES BITCHES
Come to northern FL, for $400k you'd have a somewhat of a luxury house and pretty big backyard/frontyard. I live in Tallahassee, and I really like it here, been here for almost 15 years. College town (FSU+FAMU) and capital city so it's pretty lively, pretty liberal for a city in a southern state, went to middle/high school here, didnt get any of that intelligent design bullshit, decent scholarship program as well. But I do agree with Kohan about the public transportation, if you dont have a car here, you'll have a bad time.
florida blows
florida is only a cool place to live if you used to be a spy
The only things I ever remember about Tallahassee are: it's hot, unsafe, and smells like a giant sulfurous asshole. Driving through it was always the worst part of any road trip. Overall, it has a heinous crime rate—I used to live in Inglewood, California, and despite its overblown reputation, it's statistically safer to live there than it is to live in Tallahassee. Knowing those things, we always held our noses while passing through, and didn't stop.
Other than that, I don't know anything about it.
I guess I'm out of touch, I live/hang out at the nice part of town, but same can be said with LA, you dont wanna go to the ghettos in LA.
It's all subjective anyway, though I have to give it to Kohan, he has better reasons than most why they hate FL. Most people hate it because of lolCaseyAnthony or lolGeorgeZimmerman and assume that just because two idiots fucked up, the rest of the state is doomed to idiocy (and not the whole country, as it were).
Though in the end, as much as I believe both of them should go rot somewhere, the burden of proof was never met in either case, so the juries actually didn't get anything wrong, and I wish people would understand that. Working as intended.
Florida has zombies already, so fuck Florida.
However, I do love to vacation there every year lol
Could like anywhere else in the US and get a 3.5ksqft house with 10 acres for 200k.
For a change of subject it looks like my boyfriend is going to have to have one of his dogs put down this week. He's a former K-9 and he is the most loyal, loving dog I've ever met, but he's having spinal issues and he can't control his bowels/bladder. All of this started happening last week and the vet doesn't even know what's wrong and/or if it can be fixed.
I haven't been over to his house to see him since this happened, and I'm not sure if I want to go over to say goodbye or if I'd rather remember him as he was, all happy and loving. Literally trying not to cry at work right now because this sucks.
Ya but anywhere else doesn't have Disney World.
You have no idea how deep my obsession goes with that place!
Also my husband spent several years living in Pensacola and liked it. Technically, we could have a "free" house if we were to move there. His parents never sold their house, and have been renting it out to pay off the mortgage. They were initially planing on retiring back there but I think they've since changed their mind. They've told us we could have it if we moved.
But it's never going to happen anyway as we wouldn't move unless my husband could get an entertainment job there, and any job he could manage to get (fruitless so far) would be too far away from Pensacola.
