All we need now is a rich owner who has no idea wtf they are actually doing and we should be all set.

Well a few managers who are pretty useless and don't do anything, including train their staff.
Two things.
First. Positive reinforcement works wonder for dogs. Not a single slip up in like a week
Second. I'm taking some random highschool courses to finish my highschool. I just need one credit so I'm taking easy shit. Well, one of the courses I'm taking is grade twelve family studies. The class consists of like 90% women ages 18 to 50. Well on Tuesday the class lesson was "why do women have periods" and today the class lesson was "how to get pregnant". I hate how stupid these lessons are. I learned this shot in grade 4.
know your audience lol
Got assigned to a human trafficking task force to Honduras. Any recommendations on what to do there besides not the drink the water?
Daughter is going too fast in her swim lessons. She's technically past the parent and me classes but the next they offer is private and semi-private. The private classes are twice the price of the semi-private. But they don't take kids into the semi-private until they are 2 1/2 (my daughter is two next month) because the kids have to hold onto the instructor's back. And the YMCA doesn't take kids until they are three. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻
Gonna keep her in the parent and me until she can get into the semi-private so she doesn't regress. Then we can put Corben into the beginner's parent and me.
People pay for swim lessons? Everyone in my family was taught by everyone else in the family... Then again my whole family is Red Cross certified Lifeguards, beach and pool.
Anyway, are swim lessons teaching them anything you couldn't, or is it more of a safety/pool time thing?
It's a few of things.
1. I'd like her to be trained properly. I learned how to swim at the Y, and I am an extremely strong swimmer, but even then I am at a loss on the proper way to teach it. My husband is not a strong swimmer and I tried teaching him how to float. He got it eventually but it was rather awkward.
2. Babies need a specific kind of pool situation. ie. the place we go uses saline instead of chlorine in the water, and they heat the pool to 86 degrees. We live in an apt. so no way to recreate that ourselves.
3. It kinda started out as a social/safety thing. We joined the parent and me with another friend and her kid. It is fun to bond and they could play together. As well, I think it's super important for my kids to learn asap. I too often hear about drowning accidents with young kids, my husband even almost drowned as a kid (which is why he isn't a strong swimmer, because of course, after the incident his parents avoided taking him to the beach...instead of ya know, having him take lessons). My mom has a coworker who's 3 year old drowned in a pond and the coworker gave birth to her other kid the next day. You can imagine her emotional roller coaster.
4. My daughter fucking loves it. LOVES IT. So while it was more of a social/safety thing to start, I am thinking this may end up being her sport. So I wanna keep at it.
Story time!
We had our 3rd child in swim lessons for 6 weeks. He was 6 when we finally put him in lessons because he was terrified of water (thanks to his grandma's paranoia) and we wanted him to get over that. The rest of his brothers are all swimmers and I taught them but he would have none of that. He just clung to me in the water and had a full-on panic attack. Anyways, by the end of the lessons, he was swimming better than any other student and he loves the water now. I don't know what they did to get him over the fear, but it worked. Now I can finally take him out to the rivers with the rest of the family! If only I could get my wife to learn to swim...
Lol ,ya that's another good point. I see a lot of kids at the lessons terrified of water. My daughter never was, but I guess one of the main goals of the instructors at the place I go to is to try and get kids to not cry. They are almost like preschool teachers with these kids. They make it fun. (sing songs n' such) So ya, definitely worth it imo.
So some of my co-workers are trying to hook me up with this girl. They gave me her name and number, and thats all I got. No details about this girl, other than, and I quote, "she's cute, dont worry", and I know that cute is an adjective you give to kids, not adults, a "cute" adult is not attractive. I'm skeptical on calling, partially cause I'm a huge pussy when it comes to calling random people, and partially cause I think if no ones telling me anything, theres something wrong.
Makes sense then. I learned by being in a lake and wanting to go out to the diving platform they had floating in the middle. Only way to make it there was to learn to swim. Of course my parents didn't just let me try to swim out there, my dad taught me.
We also took "swimming lessons" during summer camp from 2nd grade on, but my cousin and I (same age) were always in the highest level which really just played pool games during the lessons. Then I went to some other camp and they put me in the lowest level because I was new and learned how to float for an entire summer. You can imagine how pissed off I was every day when I would normally do laps in my cousins pool on our days off or weekends.
My son got kicked in the face by a 4 year old yesterday at daycare (he is 2) and it knocked out one of his front teeth. It was a rough night last night. Lots of drool and blood and crying.
hmm no internet presence at all you say?
Did your friends ask her if they could give you her number? Is she looking for a date?
Because, if so, what can you tell of a woman in her 20s/30s with no internet presence that have her friends set her up?
hmm.....Curiosity (and how much I believe in the credibility of my friends) would have me text her something and ask for her Snap Chat or her facebook info after like the second text...
Secretly hoping to hear that this story turns into a Catfish-esque scenario.
My father was a MCITWS in the Marines. How did he teach me to swim? He threw me into the deep end of the pool and told me to figure it out lol
