No such thing as a first world or second world or third world in my life. Treat all with respect and don't group them up with a description.

broham needs to understand they refer to the conditions in which people live, not the people that live within said conditions

good luck treating living conditions equally (wtf)

Not to mention completely missing the entire meaning of this thread. But it definitely fits the thread.

Looks like a newb trying to spam post count though.

Saved a ridiculous amount of money replacing the roof on my house. I was getting quotes of 10-15k depending on the contractor. Ended up spending closer to 6K on the highest end materials you can get, doing everything myself this past Saturday/Sunday/Monday with the help of 6-8 friends.

Win right? Yeah well the dumpster I scheduled never fucking showed up, so now I have (3) absolutely massive piles of shingle sitting in my damn yard. Hopefully the new dumpster will be delivered today/tomorrow. Going to have to spend 2-3 hours after work every day hauling shingles to the dumpster now by myself. My wife will help a little but she's pregnant so the help is very minimal lol.

Moving ~2.5 Tons of old roofing material for the third fucking time is going to be a fun experience.

I just finished the roofing on my little 8x8' shed. The amount of scrap generated between trimming the fascia, trimming the siding, cutting the finish boards, cutting the shingles, and all the flashing was terrible. It was a full truck-bed load and that was just for the roof. I have a whole other pile of scrap from the rest of the shed. I feel your pain hauling construction scrap all over.

Didn't help the house had 3 fucking layers of shingles either. 2 Pallets worth of materials went onto the roof. 2.5+ TONS of material came off it.

It's incredible the house was still standing with all that weight on it.

Buy a house they said. It would be a great investment they said......

    American Dream my ass lol.

Haha! I don't know how old your house is, but starting in the early 80s, trusses were manufactured to withstand 40lbs per square foot of direct downward force. Then you start adding more for seasonal snow load, water, wind shear, wall height, and the occasional dumbass that puts 3 layers of shingles on the roof then sells the house. Around here, we end up with roofs that can withstand over 80lbs per square foot. Higher snow areas (Looking at you Canada) see 120+ lbs/sq. ft. So, your roof was probably fine with the extra weight, but your back should be sore after moving it all.

    3 layers of shingles lmfao

shit sucks your dumpsters weren't there. That shit is balls to like move from one spot to another. Always nice if you can drop it right off the roof to a dumpster or truck bed or something.

Shoulder never recovered from my latest accident (took some lady's sideview mirror off and left it dangling by the wires); Hit me in the same spot the bus did. Was fine working out after the bus but still hurts to bench press (though I can shoulder press just fine) since the most recent one (and that was in the very beginning of march)

Work for one of the major US theatre chains and Fandango is the only site we give our showtimes to and people can buy tickets from. They recently updated their site, and it does not play well with IE, which is what all of our work computers use. So even though our chain is a major stakeholder of Fandango, we currently can't use the website. As my boss said, this really should have been brought up in a meeting.

Not totally crazy, the people we subcontract to now have to have the latest Chrome, one of the latest Firefox editions (cant remember which one), or IE10+ in order to use our website's new uploading features, but we only use IE9 so we can't access or use that aspect of the website ourselves.

    Icky sickly stuff...
    Spoiler: show
Wake up a little before 5 feeling kind of bleh, but just go to the bathroom and thing doing whatever will make me feel better. Finish that, stand up, get the, "Okay, I'm gonna barf..." feeling and proceed to wretch into the nearby trash can. So, while in between trying to calm myself, I'm thinking, "Ugh, I'm gonna have to clean this up..." because the can wasn't exactly empty. But the icing on the cake was the fact I threw up so fucking hard that I now had acidic food chunks lodged in my sinuses and had the joy of the spending the next two hours reliving it all as they were all slowly expelled bit by bit. And cleaning the aforementioned trash can.

Managed to sleep like 45m once it felt like I had everything out, but now I'm in the eat toast and swig sports drinks phase of hoping I'll keep crap down and not feel like a powerless zombie.

    Feels bad man.

Our Outlook at work was upgraded recently and we've been given the option to upload a photo of ourselves to send along with our mail messages. So I uploaded a pic that I thought was reasonably professional but it showed my shoulders and hair. (clothed, mind you) My coworker did the same.

VP of the station tells our supervisor that we have to change our pictures because they're not headshots. Apparently having a face shot that shows some hair and/or shoulders isn't okay.

    Spoiler: show
Something like this except not in a tank top:

Never mind many of the people from other markets have similar photos to the one I just posted, but no, we have to basically have extreme closeup driver's license photos, straight on, which if I'm being honest, look terrible. Just the face I want to put forward to people who work in different markets. /not

    Super annoyed.

Jaw joint has been sore the past few days since I had two wisdom teeth removed. Today I overslept and figured ok, I'll get Jamba juice for breakfast. Halfway through my smoothie I got the lid off and sipping it since the suction from the straw was making for some intense pain in the joint.
