My fail today : Emailed claims adjuster last Friday requesting all documents pertaining to my workmans comp claim - stated they would be mailed out this Monday. Today rolls around..nothing received so I email claims adjuster again and immediately get yet another out of office message through Tuesday. Fucking hell whhhyyyy..

Anyway, i think i mentioned the guy who bought our truck driving off w/o paying for gas. turns out the gas station's database that they checked the plate against was 6 months out of date, so they sent a VERY polite (first one was also polite, possibly because my parents and i have been loyal customers for years) letter explaining and apologizing. The guy who bought the truck called and apologized as well. It was only 10 bucks so hopefully they won't prosecute him, but last I heard they have a 0 tolerance policy, which is the dumbest kind of policy.

The people across the parking lot from us are like this. At least once a week, they have a loud domestic argument that they insist on taking out to the fucking parking lot. The leasing office here is pretty fucking useless, so I call the cops. Every time.

Argue all you want, just keep it inside your own fucking apartment. Or, you know, if you can't help but make each other angry all the fucking time, break up.

So my upstairs neighbour had a pipe burst on Saturday sometime during the early hours of the morning. The first I know of it is I'm sitting on the loo and I get hit with drops of water from the ceiling. I nearly have a heart attack cause you don't expect that to happen. So I ran upstairs so ask if he had a leak and he confirmed it. Anyway, I went back down and looked for a container to hold the drips. I went into the kitchen and I see this:

There had been a fairly large puddle on the floor, but luckily it was contained on the kitchen floor and didn't make it to carpet.

I've rung up my insurers but they say as I'm contents only, I have to get the building's insurers involved, but then they say I need to claim off my neighbour's insurance so I don't know what the fuck to do. Never had to claim for anything like this before.

Contact your landlord (i'm assuming you are renting) and also get your upstairs neighbors insurance information. At the very least I would expect your renters insurance to do the leg work and bill as necessary to make it painless for you, but I've never had to deal with anything like that. I can tell this won't be fun though as you run a high risk of getting mold now with all the leaking inside the walls.

I own half the flat (shared ownership). The 2 flats beneath me are unoccupied so I let the estate agents know that there might be damage, so hopefully they'll check them out.

I'm going to give it a few more days to dry out and then approach him.

Assuming you have a 2.4L 4 Cylinder: $1,500 -> $2,500 for a salvaged engine on the low end of the mileage scale.

Use this website here to find the engine, basically its a database of a TON of auto salvage yards across the country. I can help ya out a bit if you give me what state you live in and just confirm you have the 4 Cylinder.

Engine swap is not hard at all. Time consuming, but not hard. Basic mechanical knowledge and the correct tools and it should take you a full weekend to swap it in. If you know what you're doing, 4-5 hours.

If you only bent the valves, just buy a head from a salvager instead of an entire new engine. Cylinder head is like $250-$400.


Keep in mind you will most likely need to ship this shit to your house, so you will save a ton shipping just the head instead of an entire engine.

I decided to have pizza for the first time in almost 3 months. For the record I typically have cut out high starch carbs out of my diet and been limiting bread because it makes me feel like a slug and heavy as shit. I went the "good" route and got an amazing all veggie pizza selection for my half. Spent most the night with my stomach revolting and feeling like I was carrying a bowling ball in my colon.
So obviously I can't have pizza now unless I make my own and use cauliflower crust. FML.

Do it yourself. Pipe snake that connects to a regular cordless drill sells at Home Depot for like $30.
