Random Fail: First World Problems

Went for another scheduled follow up for carpal tunnel crap. Doctor is as pissed off at workman's comp as I am and is fighting for me. The fail is he offered a cortisone shot and it feels like post week 3 surgery on my left hand now. During the shot it felt like lighting struck my nerve and hand.. Fucking hell. Now my entire hand is sore up to the elbow and I can't do any weights for two weeks (doctor recommendation). Oh well time to ramp up my running I guess..

Cortisone shots suck. But after a day or two you will notice a difference. I've had to get three in my hip in just under two years. I ride an exercise bike for long periods at a time(90 minutes+) Because of the repetitious motion it causes inflammation. I also had to get one in between two of my toes probably 10 years ago. That fucking killed. I wanted to punch dude in the face but was in too much pain to do anything other than grunt and wince.

I ride an exercise bike for long periods at a time(90 minutes+) Because of the repetitious motion it causes inflammation. I also had to get one in between two of my toes probably 10 years ago. That fucking killed. I wanted to punch dude in the face but was in too much pain to do anything other than grunt and wince.

Yeah in this case it's more of a - well we can't do anything right now because workmans comp. are idiots so let's try to give you some pain relief. I also got a refill for my Norco so that may help on my worst days. Everyone warned me about these shots and I've had one in my leg..or foot before..years ago but never directly into the fucking nerve or whatever lol. They wiped down my wrist , started applying something that felt like they were freezing my skin then POKE -okay..-WTF WHY IS IT GOING IN DEEPER..AHHH IT FEELS LIKE LIGHTNING STRUCK MY FUCKING HAND WTF...then it was over lol. It was lidocaine and cortisone and my hand went numb for about an hour then the aching really set in. But yeah I figured it's better than the constant fucking pain i've been having especially the last few weeks.

Funny part of the visit though : Was laying in the room waiting for the doctor to come do the injection and hear his physician assistant answer a call about a possible allergic reaction to a cortisone injection. My mind went - oh that's just great haha. Basically from what I could tell the person who had it was seeing increased swelling in the injection spot as well as pus seeping. Advised person on phone to take benadryl but not to fall asleep just in case it gets worse he can go to ER but stated it typically is very rare. I admit I thought about jumping off the table and saying fuck this shit..lol.

steroids in general suck ass. Prednisone is used for a lot of things, among them short-term treatment of Crohn's. It's basically just a way to buy time while you get scopes/figure out what other treatment you're going to try.


it also has a huge list of side-effects, and if you stop taking it suddenly (doctor will help you taper it gently) or miss a pill you can die. for me, the side effects include uncontrollable rage. i get angry over EVERYTHING. Woke up 26 minutes after I was supposed to be here, and of course, my truck was on E with the "Low Fuel" light on. Got here an hour into my shift.

Fanfuckingtastic. No one else gets here until 8:30 but still, I hate being late. Hate.

That has nothing to do with drug side effects. It is a perfectly rational reaction to stuff just being wrong and setting off the tiny bits of OCD that everybody has. That type of thing pisses me off too, unless I'm the one who purposely does it

Wasn't feeling well this morning so left my apartment 20 minutes late.

On my drive to work I was on auto-pilot and took a right down a street I normally take in the afternoon. I make a left on the next light and get pulled over because I wouldn't make a left after 7am, at 7:15.

Continue on my way to work and my low tire pressure light comes on; I had two screws in my back right tire.

Get into work and I get an email from the city because they have supplies on their meeting table at 6am and have a meeting at 10am. SO FUCKING UNPACK YOUR SUPPLIES. I'M NOT DOING IT FOR YOU.

Didn't know if this was a win or fail, but I just have an ungodly resistance built up to automobiles; not everyone can get up and get back on the bike after getting hit by a bus and go the other 9 miles to class then go to the gym. Dude may have actually got hurt @.@

My boyfriend and I have been watching "Stephen Fry in America", where he visits all 50 states and explores certain aspects of each one. Before the midwest episode, we speculated on what the hell he would even do in Ohio. Boyfriend said "he'll probably just drive through it".
And lo, he was right. The only state so far he's just driven straight through without stopping to do something.

I work next to a hospital, which is next to a mental hospital. Got on the bus just now and sat down, checked github, etc. Next stop, someone gets on, walks to the back of the bus, and spits on me, then walks back to the front of the bus and sits down. It is almost 10PM. How late do they do outpatient care?

outpatient care can run pretty late, at least for some things. my treatments, for example, may run that late from time to time. it takes about 6 hours to do all the infusions i need, and i typically schedule my appointments in late afternoon, so i don't usually finish until 8-9 pm, with a 3-4pm appointment. iirc, they accept appointments as late as 6 so it could run extremely late indeed.

Welp. Evo starts tomorrow and I have a meeting w/ a client. THEN I have an event on Saturday, but there's also the WC game for third place and Evo all day. Sunday is carne azada w/ the fam, the WC AND Evo finals. I'm fucked, dude.

Picked up a nice interest free credit card to cover some emergency plumbing I needed to have done at the house. I had interest free for a year, so I was going to just cover 10% of the balance each month and have it paid off a little early.

Accidentally paid the entire 3K balance off on the first month lol.

Doing mystery shops today for road service providers. I take my wife's CR-V since all the garages know we drive Ford Fusions. Let the air out of one tire. Driver gets there and says he doesn't have a pressure gauge. Puts in about a minute's worth of air and says "you're good." I hop in knowing I'm going to have to get air somewhere. Sure enough low tire pressure light is on. I have no cash on me at all(I was in the ghetto.) GPS says next closest Get Go(which has free air machines) is three miles away. Off I go. A mile away I'm going up a steep ass narrow hill as a tractor trailer decides he's going to ignore the no trucks allowed sign, and heads down the hill. I'm slamming on the horn with my wife's car in reverse as the fucking moron grinds the entire trailer down the side of her car. I then have to turn around chase him for 10 minutes before he pulls over. I'm about to beat dude senseless as a cop pulls up and starts yelling at me for flying down Chartiers Ave after the guy. I point to the wife's car and explain what happened, driver gets cuffed, truck impounded, and cop writes an accident report for me for an accident he wasn't even at. So that was helpful at least. Shit ass fucking day.
