I was so close to actually giving Comcast a positive review. Went to their local office and picked up my all new cable box. Didn't have to wait long, the people were friendly, and they even gave me extra cables that I would have otherwise had to have bought myself.
Then I got home and plugged the cable box in. BZZZZ. ZAP. POP.
The box fried immediately. I called their support, and they basically said yeah its fried, we can ship you a new one (if I pay the $9.95 shipping and handling!)...or I can have a technician come and "professionally install" (which would consist of bringing me a new box and connecting two cords) for $39.95! Or! If I want to drive back to their office AGAIN tomorrow (because of course they are already closed today) I can get it replaced for free. Free being relative, of course, because of gas money and the fact that I would have to leave work early to even get over there.
So yeah. Fuck Comcast.
Let me tell you a tale my friend of having children. If you want kids, don't continue to read, if you don't want kids, read and rejoice in your decision!
I was at the mall the other day with hubby and my mom. My mother had forgotten her cell phone at home and wanted to go to Macy's while hubby and I wanted to go to the shoe store (he needed new sneakers). So, I handed mom my phone and said we can call her when we need to find her, and she had told us she was only going to hang around the first floor. And so we split. Hubby, myself, and our daughter went to Foot Locker, my mother went to Macy's toting my son in the stroller.
At the Foot Locker, we found a pair for hubby to try on. The two of were sitting on the bench while daughter was being all cute running around. I was thinking nothing of it until my daughter held up her hand and said, "butter!" With horror, I look at her hand covered in a sticky brown substance. Yes, my daughter had decided to explore what existed inside her diaper and was rather proud of what she found. I freaked, the employee laughed, and gave me some paper towels. Obviously, that was not enough, in a panic I told hubby to buy his shoes while I went to find my mom, who had our diaper bag, at Macy's. Forgetting, of course, that she had my phone.
The Macy's at the mall is four floors. As would be expected, my daughter did not want to walk and I had to carry her as I felt there was poop that had gone up her back. I searched all over the first floor. Nothing. I thought maybe she meant the basement floor. Nothing. The entire time my daughter wanted to touch EVERYTHING. Including her face to cup it with her hand to shout, "Nana! Nana!" While adorable, I await her pink eye.
Upstairs. Downstairs. Upstairs. Downstairs. Can't find either. Tried to put my daughter down, she plants her self right on the floor and screams. Surely planting poop there, there is no doubt. I went to a customer service desk. "Can you page someone for me?"
"No, we don't do that anymore. Did you lose someone?"
"I lost my mom."
"Awwww"
Fuck you!
Eventually, I make way to the car knowing there are spare diapers there thinking, "Sooner or later they will just have to come to the car!" But I passed a sign to the mall security office, and figured it was worth a shot. The sign took me down some long dark hallway that led me directly out of the mall. Having to look around I found an outside door to the security office. Because, the best way to build a mall is to make it that if there is a robbery, the security guards are as far away from the incident as possible. Went in and with a beat red face and a numb arm from toddler carrying, I say, "I have lost my mother and my husband, and my daughter is covered in poop. Is there any way I could use your phone to call one of them?"
Thankfully, the lady allowed it, but needed to have a good five minutes of laughter first. I call my husband, tell her I am at the office, and told him I am not moving from that spot until he shows up.
All in all it took a good hour and fifteen minutes to finally get my daughter a clean diaper, and my arm a good washing.
Never will I be without a phone again. Never.
oops ya I was typing on my phone and had to rush to finish the story. I called him, since they both had phones they of course had contacted each other, and were waiting on the third floor for me. In my rush I forgot to mention that the escalator was down so everyone on the planet was using the elevator. The way it is set up is the two middle floors are on the upper and lower levels of the mall and then an extended basement floor (which Macy's elevator labels level (1) and an extra top floor (4). She had told us that she was staying on the first floor. I wasn't sure if she had meant the mall's first floor or the Macy's considered first floor. After fighting the elevator with my daughter on my arm doing those laps I described, I didn't even think to really check too much on the other floors.
They couldn't have been anywhere obvious though because when I left, I left from the Macy's third floor because that was the same level the foot locker was on, and I was semi-hoping my husband would still be there for some reason. I never saw them on the way out though.
i had a minor allergic reaction to my iron again today. they did it as an IV push, which is basically a large syringe they empty into your IV. it's a more concentrated form, and it's given at a much faster rate. next time we're gonna do just a regular drip bag.
as for the reaction, my guts got hot and started flipping (which i suppose is cramping; feels more like flips to me), my lungs felt wheezy and it got slightly difficult to breathe. fortunately it wasn't as severe as last time and i pulled myself out of it again after a couple minutes. funny part was it was the same nurse as last time so she was joking that i'm allergic to her.
Broke every speed law on the books in order to get to the hospital to meet my wife. She thought she might be going into pre-term labor and the OBGYN sent her right to the hospital.
After sitting in the damn hospital for 5 hours...... she was only have mild cramps from moderate dehydration. She won't be so fast to call the OBGYN next time lol.
2 days at the beach are apparently too much for her now, even drinking a gallon of water per day wasn't enough to keep her from getting dehydrated.
First time selected for jury duty. First time selected for a trial. FML. It's not even a good one. Some trashy chick torched her house for the insurance.

Oh man that suuuuuuuuuucks, how many anticipated days will the trial be? There's a good lunch place right past the Oxford Center building, bout 1-2 blocks down from the courthouse, you should definitely get lunch there, I stop in everytime I'm downtown during the day. I forget the name as I remember it by geographic location / entry facade but I can probably get the name if you want it
