Been without electricity since Friday afternoon when a freak windstorm blew through Ohio and did tornado-type damage, ripping trees out of the ground and breaking powerlines and shit. Finally turned back on tonight...4 days later >_> 4 90+ degree days without airconditioning or cold drinks/ice is fucking awful. Though very happy about this! It was supposed to take until the 7th or 8th.

Blargh, so Tuesday I'm in all day training. My two managers are on vacation so it was just the other tech at the jail. Wednesday being National don't blow your fingers off day we were off. Thursday is the other tech's turn for training so I'm by myself. I walk in to no voicemails checked since I left monday evening, his half ass job at fixing a print spool crash left a housing unit unable to print for 48 hours, and I get a call about a computer with no network connectivity and i get down there to find the ethernet cable gone. It's only 1230 and I'm ready for a stiff drink

What makes this co-worker even more special is he is the next tier up and at max pay so he's making 20k more then me, yet he manged to fuck up the print server I had set up and configured for the jail and takes months to do a project that should take 2 days tops. Oh and the managers now unless the job is so far out of my class that they can't give it to me give me all the major projects cause they can't count on him. And yet because the manager for the entire department is too lazy to do anything, and the fact we are union the two site managers refuse to write him up or anything. Hell last year he got a deservedly so shit review and he cried so much they re-did his review to look better.... Yet I still got dinged for not doing enough work cause I missed 5 weeks between wedding, honeymoon, visiting my brother who was in the army and nearly dying from having appendicitis for 3 days before seeing a doctor. -_-

I live with this problem every day. My partner is two job titles above me and she can barely work Excel / work the instruments we use in the lab. I'm not sure if she's just playing stupid to spark teamwork or what.

My boss got royally fucked over by some douchebag for a rental place to stay, for two months he's been stringing her along and she was supposed to get the keys today - had moved out and everything - and turns out he doesn't even own this house he said he was renting her.

I can't comprehend what would possess someone to lie to another human being like that. Luckily, he works for the same company so any and all money that she gave him will be recovered or he's very likely to lose his job, but fuck. I felt so bad for her tonight, I have never seen her that upset and I can't blame her. I do know that everyone in my department is going to treat him like absolute dogshit from here on out - but that doesn't change the fact that he really worked her over.

I guess the "fail" is thinking you can trust your fellow humans. He had us all fooled. What a piece of shit.
