I have a strong suspicion that the owners of the restaurant I manage don't distribute tip sometimes and I'm not entirely sure what to do about it. I know they had received $150 tip this morning from guests paying for both yesterday's dinner and their room. I didn't work yesterday, so in order to find out if anything was distributed to the staff I'd have to ask them. This isn't the first time they've been acting shady about a large tip, last time I asked about it and was told that it was something else. The policy of the place is to distribute tip between everyone who worked that day, excluding the owners. They already know I'm quitting, so I have nothing to lose if I call them out on it, and I actually took a picture of the report.

Not sure about Swedish laws, but that is a big fucking no no here. Report it.

Tip isn't a part of our salary, I'm going to call the union and talk to them I think, see what they say. It's not that easy either, because this is restaurant industry and Sweden is a very small country, everyone knows everyone, at least when you come up to the level I'm at now. If I do something drastic I might close a lot of doors for myself.

Its easy to say "law will protect you."
But in the end you don't want to get a bad name too. Making a call to your representative for information is a first step you can do without pissing people off.

I could be wrong here but I don't think there are any laws here in the US stating this isn't legal. Remember the thread about the crazy restaurant owners from Gordon Ramsey's show? They admittedly took part/all of the tips their servers got.

yeah but they paid their workers above a certain hourly wage. technically not illegal. just extremely fucking shady because usually when you do that you tell customers so they don't mistakenly feel obligated to tip.

that's why i said take it to the court of public opinion if you have to.

That moment when you promise to fix something that's important to your kid only to realize you can't.

(Her Mater toy's crane broke. I had it, now I can't find it. She went to bed thinking it'll be fixed in the morning. Seriously thinking of buying her a new one.;_; )

That sucks..Was this something specifically from Disneyland or just a regular store ? I only ask because we leave for Disneyland next week and would be happy to help if we can..

luckily just the store. I think they were like six bucks or something. SO, probably going to run to it tomorrow. I hope it won't confuse her since she'll be with me. XD

We are going to be at disney on sunday btw. Going to the espn zone for lunch n' football, then gonna do some rides.

No worries I figured couldn't hurt to ask. We arrive Tuesday the 9th and staying at the Disneyland Hotel until the 13th, then one night at Castle Inn, so we will head back that Sunday.

This will be our last trip we can do before our AP's expire and celebrating Melenas new job
