I had told them as she was getting an estimate that I didn't want refurbed and she noted it on my estimate that I was declining using refurbished or used parts. The car is only 5 years old, bought it used last year with only 16k miles on it, it's the closest I've ever been to a new car so I want to keep it that way for as long as I can.
As for the damage, my car was pushed about 8-10 feet or so into the guy in front of me at the light. I always keep a cars length in front of me. The guy wasn't paying attention and slammed going probably about 40mph into the guy behind me who was about 6 feet behind me. The guy behind me entire backside was crushed in. I live in northern virginia so I'm not sure what the law is but the officer as well as my insurance agency both assured me he was 100% liable for my car as well as the one I hit.
Same for MA
RIP Paley: 1998 - 2014.
She wasn't in pain, that was all I could ask for.

I'm so sorry for your loss.
Damn that's one old cat, sorry to hear though. Hope my kitty makes it that long.
That's a good fucking life right there. May all our animals last that long!
Yet another work fail today. Dealing with a damage complaint. 05 Trailblazer with a flat. Release is rusted. Driver tells the lady if he tries to turn it it's probably going to snap. She says try anyway she has shit to do. He does so, mechanism lowers the tire about an inch and locks up as expected. She files a damage complaint. I tell her sorry but he did as instructed. She keeps me on the phone for 20 minutes about it ranting, swearing, calling me a liar etc. She demands to speak to my boss(same guy with the gift card snafu.) I tell her I'll pass that along. I go talk to him. His response. I'm not talking to her just pay her. So guess who had to eat crow because his boss is spineless. This guy.
It is. I was petting her when she passed on. I couldn't have wished for anything more.
That's pretty horrible professionalism right there. I had a guy in a jetta tell me to hit his rim with a sledge hammer to break it loose from the rusted and corroded hub. I refused, tried a few other things to break it loose, all of which didn't work, so I told him we had to tow it or he had to break it loose himself. He then took the tire iron from his trunk and proceeded to dent the shit out of his rim. He eventually got it off and I put the spare on for him. After all that, he then called and complained saying I damaged the rim and AAA didn't even fight it. They just ate the cost of a new rim.
I have a similar management problem.
Part of my job is the review and approval/denial for credit with the corporation. I use a variety of factors, usually the credit reports I pull, but I also check our accounts and see if there's anything shady in our history.
I'm not in on Thursdays, because of class. This was prearranged for the semester and approved, so my supervisor handles the credit applications for me on Thursdays. So Wednesday afternoon, I get a request for credit from a sales rep. It's for a company for whom we ended up writing off a significant amount of money. Wrote off, as in they never paid us. I told them fuck to the no I will not approve their credit, it's always been policy that once a company goes to collections or has a write off on file, they will not be approved credit. Ever.
Come back in this morning and going through the paperwork on my desk, and what do I see? The supervisor, who was tagged on the e-mail I sent about why I would not be approving credit, fucking approved their credit.
Yeah, way to make me look credible. And this isn't the first time she's done this, or overrode my decision entirely. So now the sales people are beginning to understand that it doesn't matter what my decision is, or that policy apparently doesn't matter either, as long as they go to my supervisor.
And I guarantee this company won't fucking pay us, and I'm not going to be the person who takes the fall for it, I'm going to say "I fucking told you so."
create a dummy corporation and submit applications for credit and then time it so your boss has to approve them
Late to the crash conversation, but yeah--
I caused an accident involving four cars about...seven or so years ago. I hit the next car, it hit the truck in front of it, the truck tapped the van in front of it. No major injuries, my car and the car directly infront of me totaled. I was liable for, and my insurance paid for, all the damage. Especially since the car I hit had no insurance and the driver was driving on a suspended license. The car I totaled sued me using one of those 1-800 injury lawyers. Almost went to trial something like two years later. (Insurance and the lawyers play chicken on if they're going to take a case to trial every few years.) Long story short, in my experience the person causing a domino collision is liable unless it can be proven that the middle drivers were negligently close to the next car.
My accident...was caused by me reaching for a cough drop. I didn't expect the cars to be stopped for a major intersection...four blocks from it. Still my fault.
Some weird pain in my hands around the top knuckles (top if I make a fist anyways) between my middle and pointer finger when I grab shit
Last night, an asian dump in the RIT. This morning, CS complains of pain when grabbing things. Coincidence? I think not.
My fail: I normally don't give a shit what my hair looks like. Today, I ride my motorcycle in to work, then realize I have an appointment to renew my drivers license. Suddenly I care that for the next few years my picture will be of helmet hair.
