We both love our fields. idk. I have a friend who has a company that's opening up in SD next year. It's like data entry but you can make like 80k a year there. (long shitty hours though) I am having him send the info over so both hubby and I can apply for it. If one of us gets the job that could seal who has to do the career change.


Sorry, I know I sound negative, and I appreciate it. Just unsure of where we are going to go so trying to weight the pros and cons to everything.

It's a tough situation for sure. I don't have an actual career , my husband does so for me I can always find work and always have. I despise the cost of living in California but his field is saturated as well so the fact he makes what he does here including many benefits for working for the county ; even with the cost of living is worth it for us but I'd love to move. I would love to leave California myself but you couldn't drag me to Florida in my case. Though we also don't have kids and never will so we have much less on the table on that front than you guys currently face. I really hate that someone who WANTS to teach and has passion for it as it's obvious you do have such trouble while some teachers out there along with any profession or job are there to collect a check. I can't tell you how many teachers had an impact on my life in a positive way - and this coming from the ghetto in Florida I grew up in.

I really hope something works out for you - it always frustrates me when I see someone working hard towards a goal and having such issues that should be , in a perfect world , much simpler.

It's funny 'cause when I sub I do (I think) a pretty damn good job. I know it's not the same thing but I get the lesson done and the kids behave and usually love me by the end.

I have so many kids that recognize me and wave or high five me when I walk by. How many fucking people do that for a random sub, ya know? If the district I sub in could get a fucking opening I coul d get a good shot, but I basically have two more years for them to open up.


The semi silver lining is if IF they need a long term sub, I can use that to make my credential permanent. It just has to be a long enough position that I can do a project (video tape and critique) of my lesson plan.


So I guess I gotta start giving all the english teachers shots of sperm when they aren't looking. >.>;

Never got one interview as there are over 1,000 applicants per position. Ordered a new camera lens on Amazon. It was on sale on the amazon marketplace from Adorama. When I ordered I specifically sent it to a certain address to make sure it was deliverable since I new it was being sent via USPS and they are retarded about rural addresses now since they automated their sorting facility. Of course it was sent to the wrong address, bounced back as undeliverable, and now the lens is not available at the same price. Fuck. So. Pissed.

similar thing happened to me. wasnt thinking, sent package to florida instead of japan, lol, default shipping address. i contacted them, they went and got the package, and gave me the money back so i could get it at the same price i bought it for the first time.

This happens to me at Target all the time. "Sweat resistant" doesn't hold candle to Fossil Park. They never last the full time. They have a no questions asked return policy though so I just bring them back and get new ones about once a month

As an aside, you hear anyone trying to praise charter schools as the way to go, just punch them in the balls for me.

My boyfriend told me that this is the way to go with education, just privatize school and put all of the funding into charter schools. Because he's not an Ed major I delighted in telling him how wrong he was (it doesn't happen often, he's a PhD candidate so he obviously knows everything) and pulling out statistics about how often they fail and that you only hear about the exceptionally good ones. Then he tried to tell me that we need to close down all of the bad schools (including public schools), and so then I'm like, "where are the kids who go to those schools gonna go? You're gonna send them to another school and put 50 kids to a teacher again?" Funny how people outside of Education have literally no idea how to fix education and this is exactly the problem with politicians with their fingers in it.

Our Kindle Fire we won a few years back has been having intermittent issues powering off when not in idle mode without warning. This means we may be getting an Ipad soon.
I'm really bitter about apple products but on the other hand I've wanted one for awhile especially since we travel. First world fucking problems at it's best.

I just got a new gaming laptop so not really needing a Surface Pro or anything that doubles as that. Hubby had dealt with surface tablets in his previous position but said the Pro would be the one to get if we did. The issue also becomes for a tablet all my movies that are digital are made for iTunes. I just don't like Apple overall yet I recognize that it has a good product I want lol.

I would love to get a surface pro 3 if I could afford one. They work as a computer monitor that you can draw on with a pen or a tablet that will run full photoshop CC. Either that or a cintique companion which is pretty much the same thing.

I got an Ipad Mini, its pretty amazing. I've left it on in idle mode, thinking it was turned off, and its been on still like 6-7 days later. Very good photo resolution (as with all Apple products) and good media device for traveling

My 1st world problem; My HP laptop that I only bought 21 months ago is already breaking :/ Power cords were given a defect/recall notice as they get pretty warm and some can overheat and start melting or something, but the hinge where it opens up has already snapped and the back casing to the top half if starting to separate more and more with it (the back half of the top piece is splitting along the edge of the front half of the top piece)

Was on a record breaking pace today for Fossil, halfway through the third lap (out of 4) and I get a huge Charley horse in my calf (which contracted and wouldn't relax; could see/feel the muscle on the side of my shin). Put me on my ass for 3-4 minutes (well after my pull ups I did those before sitting down).

I got up and finished the run at a pretty slow pace, but still pretty disappointed. Would have broken my record for the third day in a row (2 nights ago was the best run I've done since I started doing Fossil; then I did even better last night. Was on my way to break that shit tonight too, put in 110% and my shit locks up on me)

nah you probably can but it is hard. I know the feel. I get them normally like 1-2 times a year, but when preggo I would get them like 2-3 times per week while sleeping. Took forever for me to get the hang of it 'cause ya I feel you, it hurts so badly. But you gotta force it. Once you do it is worth it. If you don't do it you get that pain for the rest of the day and limping n' shit.
