Because I'm being called on my personal time to be reminded that it's my job to protect a scumbag's identity I didn't give up in the first place.

yup, that's a first world problem.
seriously. the U.S. lost something like 22% of its total number of RNs from this rampant ebola outbreak.
you people care wayyy too much about seriously stupid shit. the aiden/whoever else crap, I mean
Tomorrow should be a glorious day of getting an extra hour of sleep but there is no way to explain that to the kids. *shakes fist*
He didn't breech confidentiality...
That being said, he did get a slap on the wrist for not following policy and very well could have given away the patient's identity. He seems to understand the reason for confidentiality and disagrees with it.
My fail; Drank too much beer last night then had to spend 4 hours at a family party today with the shits. Fun times.
We've got a huge sack in the garden for branches and other waste that piles up when doing work outside. Trash cans were to be fetched today, so I filled the empty space left in the trash can with the contents of the sack. I was almost done when, all of a sudden, two mice emerged from some earth in the sack. I made sure that they couldn't climb outside because killing them wasn't exactly an option since they're cute and all and then went inside for a moment. Went outside again and figured I could just release them somewhere in the garden, preferably between some bushes so our dogs wouldn't find them.
When I arrived, they were making their way outside. The first one jumped out and quickly made for the bushes, but the second one fell in the process and landed outside of the sack, lying on the side. Wasn't sure if it was hurt, so I put on a glove to safely move it somewhere else, when out of nowhere one of the dogs arrives, picks up the mouse as it gets up by itself, repeatedly tosses it in the air, chews on it as it still lives and drops it so I can watch it quiver half-dead before he repeats the process.
I wouldn't be complaining if he had at least gone for a quick kill, but good god, that was awful.
If you think that's bad, don't ever buy a cat.
Haha, that's true. At one point, we did have two cats - the garden was littered with dead birds and mice, but at least they killed them while I wasn't looking. They never seemed to be hoping for praise by showing me their prey either, unlike my aunt's cat, who brought in half-dead animals on more than one occasion, even snakes. My grandma's cat was similar, though she had the tendency to leave internal organs in places where you would definitely find them.
The first two winters we were in my house we had some mice that would come in. The cat learned if he brought the mouse into the tub, he could play with it all he wanted without it being able to get away.
Then, he would drop the corpse right outside the bedroom door so it was the first thing we saw in the morning upon exiting the bathroom. Every single mouse looked exactly the same, a single puncture wound right behind the front leg. Then you'd go into the bathroom and the tub would look like a fucking murder scene.
My wife's cat is a damn assassin, and he's kind of fat..... which makes it even cooler.
I have nightmares of my cat Guinness killing two mice in our downstairs apartment a few years ago. Somehow field mice were sneaking inside our apartment under he door and she hunted it and killed them nearly instantly but then got sad when it stopped moving. My husband said she pounced it probably puncturing all it's organs as it let out one pathetic squeak then died. One night it was 2 am when it happened and I screamed so loud I woke my husband after she killed another one. It's funny because Guinness is an unlikely hunter..the fattest of all our cats and she doesn't play or pounce much except mice apparently..
There was a rat hiding under my grill one night. I let the dog out and she kept huffing and growling at the grill so I called her back in. I went out and uncovered the grill to make dinner and saw the thing bolt out from under it. I lost track of it, figuring it ran off to the neighbor's yard.
I go to push the back door open and hit the dog who is staring underneath a bookcase in the corner of the room. I look underneath and there's the rat. I try to push it out with a shoe nearby and out the door, but it decides to go the opposite direction, running through the living room followed by the dog. It manages to squeeze under one of the running boards for the heat and hide for a minute before I open the sliding glass door (we have a sliding door and a door door right next to each other for some reason). It manages to make it outside with the dog in tow and me saving my monitor from toppling over after the dog hits the desk chasing it.
No murder was committed, but I never saw a rat again. Only a mouse on the grates of the grill a week later...
My parents' miniature schnauzer had brought me baby birds and squirrels before, though.
my old black lab mix once killed a gopher, or some other large burrowing field-rodent of some kind. it was pretty mangled and i was just a kid, so i couldn't tell. it was big enough that i was worried about my dog so i was screaming the way kids do when they think a pet is in danger, trying to get her to leave it alone. didn't give a shit about the gopher itself, just didnt want my dog getting hurt. she got a hold of it and did the killing shake and that was that. she may have eaten a couple bites. i think she had a few minor cuts and bruises but nothing serious. She also killed a few moles and some rats, some of them after she went blind and became an indoor dog. She was a badass.
My mini daschshund (who is small even for a mini) doesn't kill anything. she used to chase and bark but she's so tiny she couldn't keep up and even when she did corner stuff she wasn't really sure how to handle it. she lost interest pretty quickly and is now far more concerned with keeping her humans properly trained.
alas, she lives with my parents so now all i have are spiderbros that keep my ground-floor apartment relatively clear of bugs.
My ex's cat is an outdoor cat. One day I walk outside and see a 4 inch fish with red puncture wounds on its body and her cat just sitting content next to it. The real kicker is there are no ponds or rivers near her house; afaik the only way she could have caught this fish is if she traveled a few miles away over night to an overflow drain somewhere and hunted it from the shallow parts of the water.
After that day I always told myself that cat could murder me in my sleep if she wanted, but my constant petting kept her satisfied with my existence.
what kind of fish? might have been a pet lol
My cat is a murder machine. I don't let him roam loose anymore, but I let him out in the garage once in awhile. One corner of the garage door is like half an inch off the ground due to it being 40 years old, so once in awhile mice get in and run around.
I've seen him kill a couple. He's efficient. Just pounces with both paws, one bite to the neck and that's it.
Well, reason #1 for not getting a cat was because my boyfriend is allergic, but now I have a second reason not to get one.
I mean, I really do like cats but not enough to be cleaning dead mice out of my bathroom.
