This sounds like an awesome snuff film.
On the Christmas topic, it's kind of nice living so far away from my family. I don't feel obligated to buy anything for them or to even celebrate the holiday, which I really don't like. I usually send my family cards and whenever I go to see the kids I buy them stuff in person. This year I'll probably send them some cool shit though.
Last year I did some drawings of my boyfriend's pets. I had been housesitting while he was out of town and got some great photos of the dogs and his bird, and used those for reference. I framed them and gave them to him. He's Jewish but he appreciates the holiday since his dad is Catholic. He was pretty impressed with the artwork and has them hanging in his house now, and it turned out to be well-timed since he had to put down one of his dogs a few months later.I have no idea how to top that this year though.
I have none of my own family just my husband's now so that makes up for it. Outside of his psycho bitch mom, I love everyone and it's nice since my my own late mother brought it all together for everyone. I can shop for anyone else but if I take out the staple video games movies or clothes I'm fucking dumbfounded even after 5 years. We are going to Vegas so another trip won't work either. At least I'm easy - give me something household /cleaning /cooking related and I'm happy. Shiny things get bonus points.
I would hate getting household stuff, unless it was someone to come in here and scrub the fuck out of this place from top to bottom. Yasssss.
Personally I don't care if I get anything. My dad will be in town the same time that the Penguins will, so he's going to cover the cost of tickets to see the game. If he gets me anything else, great, but I really don't need it.
Ast: I had a friend in college who's family would make a wish list of like 20 items, then everyone would sorta play secret santa and decide what to get each other from the list.
Probably wouldn't fly for your husband's family, but for him you two could exchange lists.
At least he wouldn't know what on the list you were gonna get but he would be guaranteed to get what he likes. (And same for you).
I get the joy of having my sons b-day on Dec.18th, then wife's bday on the 21st, then Christmas/New Years then daughters bday in January. And for Christmas, including our 3 kids, we have the joy of buying for about 20 kids in total between Neices/Nephews and God children to go along with the adults we buy for as well. December is very depressing on the bank account, but I love it.
It's a bit crazy trying to deal with bday parties so close to Christmas, but at the same time I love the atmosphere surrounding them, so I can't really complain. I am glad however that our newborn is a summer baby, so we actually get to plan outdoor events for bday parties.
my birthday is in february so my parents typically just get me a LOT of Lego around Christmas, and depending on how schedules work out we do some cake and ice cream closer to my actual bday.
because my parents are fantastic.
So, talking to my Mom about my Bahamas trip.
"Yeah, I can't wait to go to the Bahamas with you and Sam"
"Wait, what"
"Don't you want me to go with you? I don't see why I shouldn't, unless Sam is telling you not to let me come"
"...."
And it just got more awkward from there. No way in hell is she coming to Bahamas, where i want it to be as Romantic and stress free as possible before I pop the question. All sorts of fucking nope
tell dat bitch hell naw you aint goin
You guys got some weird ass Bates family type shit going on.
yeah. I always make fun of my friends for having fucked up families, but maybe mine is the odd ball for NOT being totally fucked.
