So, the tales my family makes up is mind blowing.

Spoke to my younger brother today. He works at Mr. Lube, right.

Well, today I learned that my brother is the best Mr. Lube Salesman in all of Canada and that Jim Treeliving came in personally to hand him a plaque stating so, which afterword he got promoted to manager or co-owner or something stupid.

And because of that, my brother is now BFFs with Jim and they hang out all the time. Also he makes like 8,000 dollars a month doing oil changes...

That's just one of the stories I had to deal with today

My friends have been harassing me to get a job, check out this classes about jobs, ect so I could get off disability. That's not the fail. The fail is that none of them are realizing that I need 100% drug coverage before I can think about working. If I get a job, I get kicked off disability, if I get kicked off disability, I lose my drug coverage, if I lose my drug coverage, I die.

Why don't they understand this ~_~

This situation really sucks.

I have a good friend who was in a car accident a couple of years ago and now she is in a wheel chair with very limited use of her arms. She is stuck with this same issue. She is a professional photographer and she has moved to using her phone to take photos. If she sells too many photographs and earns too much she loses her benefits and would go bankrupt on medical expenses but she wants to continue doing what she loves. There is a very careful balancing act because you would have to go from no job to earning a huge amount to make working worth while by covering your medical expenses and also having enough left over to increase your quality of life and disposable income.

Last night my friend said "Just go off disability and wait for your coverage to kick in". Because that's how it works.

And honestly. I wouldn't mind having a part time job or something. that 9-5 shit isn't ever going to happen. No fucking way. But ya, I can't do shit until I find a way to be 100000000000% sure that I will have my pills covered. I do not have the money to pay out of pocket.


Some friends, I can understand wanting me to get a job. The ones I made after my transplant. They've never seen me sick. They don't understand. But the ones who have been there for over 10 years and have seen me on my death bed should know better.

yeah. being on gov. assistance can be sort of a vicious cycle. i mentioned before that i got a large sum of money when i got on disability, but couldn't do the responsible thing and make it work for me because if i kept it too long it would have disqualified me from any other benefits, which would bankrupt me. i also had to liquidate 10k worth of stocks my grandpa got me when i was born, in the middle of the recession. took a loss on that. the whole system is set up to discourage financial responsibility because "omg teh fraud"

I literally just had this problem. We have no plunger so I had to use my hand and a garbage bag, when that didn't work I had to use Rice Cakes to create a suction to finally fix it. I threw the cakes out afterwords lol

Running on 2 hours of sleep today. We had to take my 5 month old daughter to the ER last night because she was throwing up quite a bit and didn't want her to get dehydrated. On the bright side she is feeling much better this morning and was giving me some big smiles before I left for work.

I am honestly kind of anxious about eventually getting it because goddamn i hate that i will end up having to waste a huge amount of money. Money that would be extremely useful, if only i didn't have to spend it all at once. It's so fucking stupid.

Well, you can alleviate that feeling somewhat by being smart with how you spend it. For example, I spent almost all of it on things that have a high use/cost ratio. My car and Lego, which will last decades. My TV (replacing a CRT) and monitor, which I use almost all day every day. I don't feel like those were a waste, because I use them so much.

Yeah, of course, but that ratio will drop lower and lower with each purchase, and won't take long before i'd be better off saving it, if i was allowed to.

720 miles, 3 job sites, and 17 hours later I finally finish my last shift before thanksgiving. Was supposed to be 6 hours/250 miles.

Sold an iPhone 4 on eBay, winner was someone with 5 positive ratings, didn't pay much attention to it until the guy didn't contact me for a few days after the auction. Finally check their profile and all positive ratings contain remarks amounting to "Doesn't pay, doesn't answer", because buyers cannot be given negative ratings on eBay. So I contact the guy and tell them to either pay or answer me immediately as I could still sell the iPhone to lower bidders. Within a few hours, the guy responds and tells me that I should do so. So I make an offer to other bidders, but seeings how it's been three days, all of them already have iPhones.

So I wound up filing a case, which also took some time and now it's up for auction again. Meanwhile, the previous winner finally got an official remark for unpaid auctions while other sellers still proceed to simply give positive ratings and complain, ensuring that they 1) won't have their fees reimbursed and 2) the guy will not be banned from eBay; good going.
