Less planned and more truthfully is the fact that I got a new laptop today. After I took it out of the box, I saw that it had what looked like a big chip in the finish on the top of it. Rubbed it with my finger, motherfucked a few people, then I took off the plastic film and watched the giant chip slide right off onto the floor. Apologies to delivery man, computer-making sweatshop guy, and Jesus for blaming them for a nonexistent flaw in a product.

Utilities company refunded my security deposit for water & electric after having an account in good standing for three years. Yeah, well, I didn't ASK for that refund right now and I don't want it. I want it when I close my account and move out of this place, whenever it may be. I split my utilities bill with a roommate and this would basically give him a free month and give me nothing whenever I close the account. No thanks. Called and the guy said he couldn't do anything about it. You better believe I am taking that shit up the chain.

Just in case anyone ever wonders why rape victims don't come forward, and people are hesitant to even support them, here's why.

If it makes you feel safer in your bubble to think that I only care about the feelings of everyone you call rapists, and the not the actual victims of rape, then be my guest. But you're not doing yourself any favors in credibility with the story you're presenting. He openly admitted to raping her, but he hasn't been arrested, and all her friends (seemingly excluding you) are telling her to knock off the drama? Please. You have to be a special level of crazy to think that's an even remotely plausible story to anyone outside of radical feminist circles.

My best guess is you're leaving out some important detail, like both of them being drunk and/or stoned, yet you still think it's rape because of a lack of "ability to legally consent."

I'm sending this privately because we're risking infractions for continuing to derail, but I wanted to explain the perspective you're clearly not understanding.

We're not defending the alleged perpetrator out of some ridiculous belief that rape isn't bad, or isn't even a thing. On the contrary, the reason why rape is one of the few things to get questioned so thoroughly is because of A) its seriousness, and B) its rarity. If someone came in saying "my friend was just murdered in cold blood outside of a taco stand" it'd be met with similar incredulity, because that shit just doesn't happen all the time.

At the same time, "innocent until proven guilty" isn't something that only belongs in court. If you want to treat people fairly in life, that should be your modus operandi ALWAYS. That shouldn't be something that really needs explaining.

Not that i owe someone who clearly has no empathy except for rapists an explanation, but he admitted to it. There is a time and place for questioning these things, and in a random fail thread talking about an unnamed person no one on the site knows is not one of them.

Yeah, gee, I sure love causing "drama" when I talk about having been raped. That's totally the reason I've ever brought it up. Just to stir up drama. Not because I would want people to like empathize with me or understand what a horrible experience that was for me. No, I just want to make all of the men in my life look bad because one of them was a complete piece of shit. No, I wouldn't come forward to put a criminal behind bars, or maybe to let my other friends know that they shouldn't trust a certain guy. I just wanted to cause drama.

The fact that anyone actually calls someone out for causing drama when talking about rape which is one of the most traumatizing violent experiences a person can go through without dying is fucking disgusting. The fact that it's so normal to shit all over women for "making waves" about something that was a crime against her person is fucking disgusting.

Take any other fucking crime in the world. Any. Someone stole your TV. You're gonna come forward about it and is someone going to tell you you're starting drama? That is a truer comparison in terms of the accusation part, but there's a pretty big difference between an act against someone's stuff and an act against a person. I don't know if it's just the way many men perceive sex in general or what (really trying not to generalize here, note I said "many"), like rape is apparently not that big a deal, but it's terrifying, it's damaging, it's just nothing anyone wants to suffer through and living that is a traumatic experience that won't easily go away. Many (again many) women actively fear it happening every day. Getting your tires slashed isn't quite comparable.
