The reason I'm not giving information is because it's not my emergency and I don't feel right sharing his business online, even though none of you know him. I'm half tempted to spend my own money and go abroad by myself but I'm not 100% sure I can swing that or that I'd even enjoy myself if I were traveling alone. Europe isn't going anywhere. Some things are more important.

So our neighbors roof just collapsed. A nice 5 foot long 3 foot wide hole in their ceiling. How no one got hurt and nothing really broken is a miracle. Of course when we first heard the noise, we thought one of the workers on the roof fell and got hurt cause it was sounding like someone was going to fall through our ceiling.

I seriously went around every fucking room of our place inspecting shit. It's crazy how close it was to taking out their TV and other furniture too. It concerns me with how old the building is how safe it is for anyone to be walking around up there now, but explains why they were up there in the pouring rain today. If I had not seen it myself I never would have believed it.

I'm glad they require renters insurance now..

Had our tour person call out sick today so I got to do a tour this morning. I am usually fine with it, and enjoy talking about the cats and teaching people...however today I had this really bitchy lady who was yelling and screaming at her kids before they even got inside. She kept interrupting me to inject "her knowledge" about big cats and being generally annoying to the other guests as well. After about twenty minutes...she had annoyed everyone in the group. As I am telling them about one of our big male tigers, she walks right over to the line where she is clearly not supposed to be. The big male walks right up to the cage, sniffs her, turns and sprays her with a stream of urine that would have made one of my elephants proud. Was one of the best moments I've ever had with a guest. :D

Fucking tapatalk erased my long fucking post. Long story short - back pain issues since Sept., two days ago started so bad sitting, standing and lying down all fucking hurt worse than before. 800mg of motrin gives me zero relief, doctor hasn't even read my email so probably switching anyway since her last word on my back pain which this started from was "I can't do anything else, talk to the neurologist who has done everything he can anyway". I've NEVER been in chronic or life altering pain that caused me mobility issues so I'm freaking out. I acknowledge I'm fucking fat but trying to fix that but fucking can't do the activity part without being able to stand or sit for any amount of time. I've also started limping on that side from the pain now. I'm going to be fucking pissed if I was misdiagnosed months ago and it was more than inflammation.

do you have access to one of those hang-upside-down things? when i get back pain i always feel like one of those would help a bit but ive never actually tried it.

Even if I did I doubt it would hold me or I would somehow in my clutz filled daze break my neck lol.

The pain is now mainly in my hip and back area, near the joint which is worse than just back pain since nothing makes it easier. I also have my followup appointment with my workman's comp doctor Wednesday since my QME evaluation so as if I'm not stressed enough. I want nothing more than to drink copious amounts of alcohol but at this rate I would somehow break my wrist or some shit.

The only thing that helps is strict pressure on the joint area but I'm not sure that's the best either. I just want to be walked all over with steel toed boots it hurts so bad..

Prognosis for persistent pain is bad if you don't substantially change something. Doctors can give you stronger medicine, but it's unlikely to work at all (and even if it does, it is unlikely to work for more than a few months). Focus on losing weight, which will likely reduce the stress on your joints and bring down the inflammation in the long run. I recognize that most types of exercise will obviously be painful, so you might have to do it mostly through diet at first. Hospitals deal out stopgap solutions. They typically don't address the real source of the problem, most often because they can't (weight, drug use, aging, etc.)

As far as pain management, high doses of NSAIDs are honestly about as good as it gets. If it isn't working, ask the doc if you can go higher. If they say no or you have tummy troubles, ask about Cox-2 specific inhibitors. After you establish a weight loss trend, ask your doctor to consider sending you in for a pair of corticosteroid injections. They could give you the push you need to drop enough weight to make it out of the woods. You'll also likely want to strengthen your hips along the way.

If you are really having trouble with your doctor, consider getting outpatient treatment from the pain center at a local hospital, but be aware that pain is just the body's warning signal (until it goes neuropathic). It's telling you there's a problem. You should respond before it goes neuropathic and no one can save you anymore.
