Feel like I'm jinxing myself with this, but hurricane activity in this area has been really low. We got one tropical storm a few years ago, that's the worst I've seen since I moved here.

Ike in 08 jumps to mind immediately even if only because a tree fell on my roof and caused all sorts of damage. The insurance company wanted to try to play all kinds of bullshit games and didn't want to give me my money. Had to take them to court and all sorts of nastiness.
Its not the last hurricane to make it up here but its the last one I really cared about because holy fuck that was a nightmare.

Got it all squared away in the end but the process took ages.

Random fail 1: Hit debris in the road that popped me up and made me lose control of my bike. Slammed into the guard of the overpass (lol almost fell over that shit). Skinned up my hand and hurt my wrist pretty bad
