Google depricated their postini spam filtering service and I had to migrate to their google apps spam filtering service. I have been dealing with 3 days of shit storm involving this migration process that includes tons of spam email getting through and incoming emails getting duplicated as I tried to figure out and understand the new system and its settings. Oh and on the second day when I wanted to be on the phone with google to iron out everything ATT had a major network failure and every phone line and internet at my work went down for 18 hours.

Workers comp is still stuck in the 1920's and only issue checks since it's a business, and not a state/federal funded thing.

I'm 99% sure it's something about California not allowing it for workmans comp payments but emailed my adjustor to ask anyway.

uhhh, whatever O'reillys gave me in March '14 when I brought in the manufacturer's battery? 2010 Honda Civic. There are types of batteries? I thought it was a "whatever very specific battery fits into your vehicle" sort of situation. I tell them the car type (or rather, I bring the battery in) and they handed me a replacement battery. I asked if there was any sort of choice on what batteries to pick from (I know that used to be a thing anyway...) and they said no, so I took it.

Wife took the car out last night and said she had trouble starting it to get home. No details though, so it may have just been slow to start because cold rather than an actual problem that time. Texas gettin' snow, ugh.


The oxidation thing is probably it I guess, there was some thin yellow shit on the posts (none of that crusty battery crud I'm used to seeing on bad batteries though), and that's something that would've been agitated as I removed/reinserted the battery, allowing it to work again. I guess I could go back in there and give them a scrub with a cloth.

In case you're curious about the state of the car when it was dead... Car happily functioned on ACC. About half the time turning it to ON killed it (all lights shut off), and the rest of the time it died as soon as I turned it to START. There might've been one click if it got that far? Hard to remember.

Lots of technical info about batteries if you wish to know. Otherwise, suffice it to say that you probably had a bad cell as well as connection problems.

As far as batteries, they are classified by group size. Brill can tell you more about it than I can, but your battery should be a Group 51R. The R just denotes that the terminal polarity is reversed from the Group 51 without the R. Pretty simple actually. You can put any battery in it that; fits in the space allowed and can be held down properly, the cables reach the correct terminal, and the Cold Cranking Amp rating is the same or higher. For something like an old Chevy S10, you can put like 20 different batteries in there with no problems. Newer vehicles tend to have the battery space specially cut for a single group size and won't fit any other.

You are so lucky. I don't think google apps spam filtering is bad it seems to be working ok now that it is set up properly it is just a pain in the ass to get it set up properly.

Fiance and I get rear ended not too long ago, very very minor damage and we're both ok. Cop doesn't even write guy ticket, no problem, follow-up with insurance company.

Apparently the guy has some medicare/medicaid insurance coverage through some lady (wife/mom) thats some discounted 1$ a day insurance just so the car can be on the road, no coverage of course, very basic insurance. So now I have to front the bill for the damage he inflicted to MY car because my deductible is $500. I can take him to small claims court if I want to get the money back, but oh, apparently the lady who is the person insured has a disconnected phone and all her mail gets returned so she may not even exist...

So I was basically hit by an uninsured driver and have to pay the bill myself. Anything over $500 my insurance will cover but up to 500 is out of my pocket. Cool.

Oh, also a wrench fell on my car from a guy working on a telephone poll last week but at least the power company is going to take care of it - so that's a random win, but the wrench hitting my hood isn't.

While this sucks, a small amount of effort is enough to get the steam rolling to not only cover your losses, but maybe come out slightly ahead after its all said and done. Assuming you want to deal with it, maybe you're baller enough to not care about $500 lol.

I have the police report and am going this week to follow up and track the guy down. My state has some kind of retarded law and the insurance company says they can't do anything about it, but they should represent me I think if I take him to court.
