Being sweaty is what often keeps me awake, also I will sometimes get restless leg syndrome which also is a pain in the ass.

I have the racing thoughts bullshit. It's like a wheel that spins and spins and instead of mud flinging off it's random topics. I hate it. I'll go a week sometimes without the "good" sleep. If you drink soda, don't for about 6 hours before you'll be going to bed. Smoking weed does help. A cap full of nyquil will net about 8 hours really good sleep if in a pinch.
Am I the only one that finds jerkin' it can be a good aid to falling asleep when you are having problems?
I feel everything on the inability to sleep. I have night terrors and nightmares constantly and not a damn thing helps. I also battle insomnia weekly. My mind races randomly about death, past experiences and the most random shit like " why is basket a word and who came up with it". Sleep deprivation is common for me too..
Nyquil knocked me right out the first time I had it. After that it really hasn't affected me much.
I am taking over (temp) for a History teacher who mysteriously quit his job (seriously no one has ANY idea what happened).
Students have had another sub for like two weeks before I took over and were in the middle of a project. Going through these kids rough drafts (we are on spring break), and have already found two plagiarizers. No idea how long these kids have gotten away with stuff like that. It's going to be interesting day when I start on Monday...
I'm so fucking over this carpal tunnel pain. Left wrist had surgery in March and still hurts like hell. I've been forcing myself through consistent pain daily and finally had enough and popped a Norco today. Workman's comp is being super stingy on therapy and only approved 4 appointments. I can't even do the exercises on a daily basis they want because my hand is in so much pain and so tender to any touch. Fucking miserable to live like this.
Iirc men have a chemical release in the brain afterwards that simulates relaxation and stuff of the sort. Thus the sleep, but I'm not sure if women do to the same extent. I do know a woman's orgasm simulates all areas of the brain, but the fuck do I know? On my phone atm so I don't feel like googling it.
give one an A and the other an F and make them fight over it in front of the rest of the class
lol. First day back I am going to go over a lot of information with them regarding the project. I don't think the other sub was teaching them any of this stuff. I have no idea if their real history teacher did, and I obviously can't ask him.
Tempting, very tempting.
Tends to wake me up, too. Often having to get up to piss after doesn't help, either.
Heat is generally my sleeping enemy, not even sweating specifically. I guess some nights I'll get the, "My brain won't STFU!" thing, but I tend to attribute that more to trying to force myself into bed than just going when I start feeling tired.
Heh, I love this paper for quantifying everything in terms of hands / "satisfied hands": http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/25535515
It would imply that there is hope. A small percentage of people take more than a month to experience improvement. This is kind of implicit in the rest of the literature, as most of the post operative follow-ups that determine their success rates are at 10-12 months. The success rate for the surgery you underwent is probably >90%.

Oh this is my second surgery, the right hand was done last March but due to fucking cocksuckers workmans comp the lawyer and doctors had to prove it was work related. I fucking do data entry for a living you do the math.
Anyway the right didn't hurt thus much and it's my dominant hand. Basically the incision area is sensitive as fuck and doing any nerve and tendon glides is nearly impossible without a 6 on the pain scale. It throbs off a day on and I can't even wear my brace because the sensation makes me want to rip my hand off.
I'm just extremely grumpy over this shit. I've been off work since Nov 2013 and was expected back by Oct 2014 to give you an idea. Norco just dulls it enough that I don't want to kill everyone but that's not a solution. I can't even brush my hair, type, wash my hands, etc without pain. And today marks 10 years since my mom died so fuck today.
