Also, solar panels require batteries. Batteries can leak.
If you try hard enough, yes.
Doesn't it take like 1 acre of solar panels to power a single house or some absurd ratio? I'm not saying solar can't be part of the solution, and putting on roofs is a good use of available space. But a solar only answer is silly.
Idk, depends on the region you live in, your energy needs, and how far the tech has come (and come down in cost over time in the last 3 years).
Considering there are people who pay nothing for their power and sell it back I would imagine some people have made it feasible.
Honestly if code required every house within a certain region to be built with just one panel I think the effects would be drastic. Including the incentive to research.
Generally no it doesn't take that much. It might take that much if you don't get good sunlight but if you don't get good sun at your house then solar isn't the greatest idea for you. I know someone who has a cabin next to a spring and they do a combination of solar panels and a miniature hydro electric setup to power their house.
So I was in my Cisco class yesterday and I was going to write the "Make a new gang" post in the FFXI Nostalgia thread. However, as I went to do this suddenly there is a loud banging over and over again like the Hulk is smashing through the wall. So I tilt my head and put the phone down.
I quietly make my stupid cheesy "Is someone getting fucked?" comment and then knock on the wall quietly just because it keeps on going. Apparently the guy next to me thought the comment was hilarious, but hey.
Meanwhile I discovered your phone being on mute doesn't stop the music on the Nostalgia thread from playing loudly through it.
Teacher is Indian(maybe?) and calls over to me "Whats is thiss elevatohr mussic?"
I reply "Heh, sorry, nostalgia got me".
Guy came in to clean the carpets today, and that's the last "repair" I've needed since the flood last week, all told, I think I lucked out in the end.
The guy goes in and cleans the carpet in the bedroom, then comes out and starts to ask me about my dildo which I had left sitting on my bedside table. Like, okay, whatever, maybe I should put that shit away (but I don't really care enough to, this is my apartment and I'm not ashamed of masturbation) but like, you're a total stranger dude, you're at work, and you're asking me why I need a sex toy? What do you fucking think the answer is going to be, that I use it to bake cookies?
I mean damn. How to make a woman uncomfortable in 0.4 seconds. Now I'm kind of debating calling the company and complaining. That was completely inappropriate.
Maybe I shouldn't need to explain myself or my sexual preferences to anyone and it's not appropriate to comment on it?
But congrats on flipping that on me, I get creeped on and it's my fault.
"I don't conform to normal social behavior even though I know what it is and I am irritated when people react to my abnormal behavior."
P.S. - I hide my fleshlight when I'm expecting company. It's about the random stranger's comfort, not yours. There's a certain irony that this needs explaining after the "why don't guys cross the street to make women less uncomfortable" argument in the feminism thread.
There is nothing abnormal about masturbation.
There is nothing abnormal about a woman owning a sex toy.
There is something abnormal about asking a total stranger about something private and literally none of their fucking business.
So let me ask you this, when I had water literally pouring in from the ceiling last week, was I supposed to rush around amidst all of the pots and pans I was using to catch what water I could and hide everything that would render me unsavory? No, I was not, because it's an expectation that people actually live in their apartments and they may have things lying around.
Okay, so I

Did that make it right for him to bring it up? It is literally not his place, as a total stranger, to comment on something like that. Ever.
Lawl. That's hilarious and if you weren't uncomfortable enough to put it away you shouldn't be so surprised by the comments. I think it's hilarious personally
I'm more curious as to what the guy would've asked. Like "Hey, mind if I use that for a few minutes?"
