Went to the beach this week with my girlfriend and her family. Made sure day one to coat myself with sunscreen and to reapply every hour and after getting out the ocean. Still got horrible burn on my shoulder and neck. I hate being white![]()

Sol: Kill Whitey
Woke up from a nightmare I friended my boss on Facebook. He was going through my posts and commenting how I was in trouble, etc. Panic attack ensued and had to double check it wasn't real since I don't keep anyone on FB that is associated with work and I keep my FB locked down to just friends. Fucking horrible start to my day.
I hate to complain about my mother in law because I am so grateful she is giving us a place to stay until we can get back on our feet, but I just need to vent a little. The food issue is such a struggle. I am working hard to teach my kids to have a healthy diet. I'm fat. My husband's fat. Our siblings are fat. And both our parents let us eat w/e we wanted when we were growing up because we were "too skinny." All four cases led us all to gain weight once we hit college. It may have worked out fine for some, but I don't want my kids to be that way. I strive to let them have a balance meal at home, but I do let us have junk food days (in moderation). It's been hard for my son as he's a picky eater, but I am doing my best to make it work.
Long story short, last week my mil told me I was starving them to death and went into a rant about how my nephew, who is only six, eats junk food all the time and is fine. She can't understand he may not be that way when he's twenty. More importantly, I wish she would respect that I don't feel comfortable feeding my kids that way, and there is nothing wrong with being healthy. The way she talks to me feels like she thinks I am a pretty terrible mother. Ugh.
asian, right? yeah, good luck with that.
All of my Vietnamese friends growing up mothers would be like that.. You too skinny you need to eat.. Then the second they were in highschool they would get berated for being too fat.. Ridiculous lol
Lol pretty much. My friend who is Vietnamese is going through the same thing except with her actual mom. Her mom even went with my friend to the pediatrics appointment and tried to get the doctor to confirm my friend's son is too skinny. Doctor wad rather stern in her response saying he was fine. Now the mom is trying to get my friend to find a new doctor.
It's weird because asain's tend to be rather skinny, so I dunno how this makes any sense.
What is awesome is when you hit 18 and suddenly they do an about face and start telling saying you could stand to "lose a little" when they can't count all your ribs anymore.
Yep. Changed up my eating habits a few years back and dropped near 30 pounds gradually over a year and change. Feeling good at 185, mom goes to tell me that I look like I'm dying and malnourished. Regain that weight over a few months because my eating habits went to crap. Mom now thinks I'm fat. MAKE UP YOUR MIND!
how old are you, that you are taking health tips as such from your mother
I don't take tips from her. It was an observation that was relevant to the current conversation.
It's funny I would hear crap from my mom all the time growing up that I needed to lose weight (which I did need to) but then I'd say hey I'm done drinking soda.. First weekend she comes back from Costco with 6 12 packs of soda then gets upset when I get mad for buying it
So I'm waiting here all dressed up for a wedding and shit w/ a tie and everything and is hot af outside. As soon as I step out I'm going to be drenched in sweat. It's gonna be a sticky day
Washing machine woes continue. Sometimes it works perfectly, other times, the machine won't stop filling with water. I'm now having to babysit each load, which sucks. Running medium loads for now to hopefully prevent overflow again. Short of hiring a repairman (duh), anyone have any advice?

The only thing stupid about it is that you didn't use a torx wrench to remove it. If you have a dremel or small saw, you can cut a notch to use a standard screwdriver to remove it.
You can't be serious. Are you serious? You really think we didn't use a torx wrench? Serious? No...you can't be serious.....
