Some companies (including Breyer's, though not sure if this particular one shown is a culprit) are required to label their product as "frozen dairy dessert". In general, Breyer's has gone down in quality quite a bit in the last 5+ years. The "frozen dairy dessert" label is just the easiest way to tell their worst garbage tier products.

Another trick is overrun, the ratio of air to ice cream, which can be pushed as far as 1:1, or half air. Real ice cream still has to meet a certain weight to volume ratio, thus, there is a limit to how much overrun there can be.

Additionally, frozen custard has the same requirements as ice cream, but with the addition of needing at least 1.4% egg yolk.
However, there are NO guidelines on the composition of gelato. Interesting in that it's getting a marketing push now, eh?

Breyers is pretty awful I admit. When I was eating ice cream I was going for Tillamook or nothing. Blue Bunny is a good one too. Most others are pretty horrible. I do miss Strohs from Michigan.

Oddly enough, I enjoy getting Albertson's ( grocery chain) brand of ice cream. It's not high quality by any means, but they seem to constantly change the flavors to some tasty stuff.

I've found that if I want ice cream I have to go to Publix. Winn Dixie's flavor selection is terrible and Walmart is ... well, Walmart. I don't hate Breyer's but there aren't many other options. Blue Bell is pretty good though.

Big random fail today; I tried to upgrade to Windows 10. Tried is right. I ended up having to reformat and do a fresh install.

Let this be a lesson to you guys. If you got a Nividia card, for pete's sake, BACK YOUR STUFF UP. I had a month old backup so I didn't lose much but it's still kinda infuriating. I still need to *yoink!* a wired Xbox 360 controller from Neko so I could get the drivers for my controller...they don't have the Xbox 360 drivers for Windows 10 yet up for d/l, only for update. Bleh!

Received a letter from the daycare we sporadically use for Noah. Apparently some fucking twat hipster parents who refuse to have their children vaccinated brought whooping cough into the daycare. Noah is cool. BECAUSE HE WAS VACCINATED. Sadly there are two children that go there have repressed immune systems who are now forced to deal with this shit.

I've said it before, I'll fucking say it again. If you want to be that fucking asshole that doesn't want to vaccinate your child then fucking home school them and do not utilize public daycare. Because all you fucking are is a ticking timebomb to some other child whose parents aren't fucking prick bag mother fucking assholes like yourself.

I will say this, she and I always agreed from day one he gets vaccinated. A couple months back you guys might remember me posting about our friend's son who had a liver transplant and was literally hours away from death. He's doing awesome by the way. But he now has a repressed immune system. If some fucking asshole got him sick because they didn't want to vaccinate their child you would have to pull me off the mother fucker.
