Random Fail: First World Problems

4 10 hour days and 3 days off was always my favorite. I know its not for everyone, though. Worst I ever had was this BBQ joint I worked, it was 5 6 hour days and everyone had to do one mandatory double shift per week. The fucking worst. I only lasted there for one month.

I go to fundraisers at nice restaurants a few times a week which can be breakfast, lunch, or dinner, SOMETIMES ALL 3, and i have to bring AT LEAST $1k of someone else's money.sometimes i go to the office to get some paperwork done or go home or whatever. this game is not for the weak of heart

Once you get used to working all the time, you forget what it was like to have free time and are less miserable than you might assume. People are really good at adapting!

So true, first job after graduating was 12 hour shifts mon-fri, with an 8 hr shift Saturday, 6 if I was lucky. In the final 6 months there, I did not contact any friends or relatives and it passed by in the blink of an eye. What did suck was the severe, crippling depression that resulted from having nothing to do before noon on my first day off after quitting once I finished chores and grocery shopping. Thank god I had good friends, ffxi, and alcohol.

And yeah, the military thing is ... you don't have a choice and you adapt fairly quickly to shit like that. 24 on 24 off is much worse though, pulled that shit in Kuwait. I'd much rather do 12 on 12 off.

I love those hours. I work for a dealership in California and when I was hired it was 4 10's. I would go back to that in a heartbeat.

like I said it was not as advertised. it was always at least 5 10's, and it wasn't sitting around doing an office type job.
