Well, now that the car ordeal is finally done with, I can actually go over what went completely wrong with my Ford Fusion Hybrid and why I will never buy another ford again.
I bought the car as a birthday present for myself in November of 2013. Traded in my perfectly good honda civic for it. Was about a 38k car. In March, I notice the car won't stay in accessory mode. I called Ford and was promptly told that it is supposed to instantly shut off, despite it working the first couple of months. I finally have it checked out in April on my first oil change as it was getting to where I was resetting the clock twice a week. Turns out, the car battery (not the hybrid) was dead. Shortly after that, I got a check engine light pop up. Brought it in, Filler neck was replaced. 2 weeks later, check engine light is back on. Bring it back in, they replace another part under recall.
July rolls around and I start hearing a constant rattling noise coming from the roof. I bring it in with a blown speaker to boot, and they just pass it off as the sunglass holder and replace it. September, same thing. March, I bring it again, they replace it again, and within a day it's loose and rattling. They tell me they forgot to order a harness for it and it's backordered. End of June I call again asking about the part and they say to bring it in as there are recalls that also need to be performed. 3 days later, they tell me that they need to replace the headliner, and it should be in within a day or two. Every day after that, it's another day or two. A week later, I go down in person and raise hell. While waiting for the GM, the sales manager asks if we've been helped. We tell him we are waiting for the GM and he knows we are here. He keeps asking if we have an appointment and my wife and I repeat that he knows we are here, we are waiting for him, and gets extremely rude and snotty towards my wife. Meet with the GM and the service manager and they tell me they are going to use a headliner from a 2015 Fusion to replace it. At this point, I file a lemon law complaint to Ford.
2 days later, they tell me the new headliner won't work because the wiring is different, and that they would have to special order a headliner. By this time I'm already in a new rental with them picking up the tab for it as I couldn't fit in a fiesta for more than a couple of days, and they then agree to cover the gas as I was in something that averaged about 17mpg. Shortly after that, I find out Ford is going to buy the car back under lemon law.
Cut to this Tuesday, everything is squared away and the RAV department tells me the check has been issued, and will go out overnight either tuesday evening or Wednesday. Thursday, I call and nothing, told Fed Ex doesn't arrive till the evening, so I make a drive down as the RAV department was waiting on a tracking # from corporate. The GM, who is a condescending jerk to me and my wife in our first visit tells me it hasn't arrived and if they didn't give me a tracking #, it obviously hasn't shipped.
This morning, I get a call from RAV with the tracking #, and we find out it arrived Wednesday morning. I go down there and basically blown off told that it must be in the controllers office and nothing can be done till the GM arrives later that morning. I get breakfast, go back at 9:30 when he arrives, and he tells me they are looking for it but can't find it. I walk out to my car, start it, and he comes running out to let me know they "found" it.
As for the check for my gas I was promised as well as the month of Sirius XM Radio that I couldn't use due to my car being in the shop for 37 straight days before being bought back, I was told today it's been declined but they are appealing the decision under a new claim code, though honestly I've all but written off that $275 dollars.
To sum it up, this dealership has zero accountability. As an authorized Ford dealer, they are the face of the company, but the GM actually had the balls to tell me that it's not their problem the car was a piece of shit. The same GM who doesn't even know what the extended warranty does and does not cover. Staff there are horribly rude and condescending. All they care about is getting your name to paper, and once that's done, good luck if anything goes wrong. Not only will I never set foot at Fremont Ford again, I will never purchase another Ford car again in my life. I've gotten better customer service at a fast food restaurant then I've ever gotten at Fremont Ford
