This is not even remotely a crisis, it's an annoyance. Well, several annoyances. If it were just the fact that the package was at the leasing office, I'd be like "meh whatever" and go get it. It was the package being at the leasing office along with the stupid employees just deciding to leave for like an hour during the middle of the day that made it a fail.

I have 512k DSL in my (rural) neighborhood, I got the one and only ISP remotely close to us to agree to install 100Mb fiber with commitment to increase to 1Gb in a few years for about $4k per home to install. They also offered a 10Mb DSL upgrade for free. The yokels in my neighborhood chose 10Mb DSL because it's "fast enough" and the ISP is obviously trying to fleece us because them city folks get fiber for free.

When we moved into my in laws when my hubby lost his job, we had to send the cats to my mom's in ct. We plan on going there during xmas and the plan was to take the cats back with us




My mom admitted today my cat, Harley, escaped five days ago and hasn't come back. I don't blame my mom at all. Hayley would escape out our door all the time, but she always came back. I just wish I could have made her understand that she was going to come back to us. I have only a sliver of hope she'll show up. Five days is a long time to be gone. I want my furbabies. ;;;;;;;;;;

Fucking annoying night.

Despite numerous protests and complaints I get dragged out to a "back to school" drinks night with other grad students. It is known I am a hermit. It is known I am an absolute asshole. It is known I don't really even like most of them. The girl who coordinated it gets drunk and hits on me every time I'm out, and despite her being reasonably hot for a physics grad student, I have a girlfriend. It was a whole bunch of hassle that I never wanted.

Get there 8pm, leave right about midnight. Have 4 Stella Artois (light pale ale) over the course of 4 hours because I'm not that sort of asshole. Deal with vague allusions to blowjobs which are really a level of decision making I never want to have to deal with when out with classmates, etc. Night ends, I proceed to drive home in the same manner I always do, like an absolute cockbag. Preface: I live in Louisiana now and I took backroads home at midnight, I drive a rear wheel standard, let the tail out, 45 in a 30, rolled through a 100% dead stop sign, etc. I drove like an asshole, I usually do, no excuses.

Get pulled over by police. Turn off car, interior lights on, hands on wheel. Puts hands on gun and asks me to step out of car slowly. Do so, sees I am white as fuck, calms down (thanks privilege). Am 100% honest with the guy because I know that, while I am an asshole, I'm not drunk. Do field sobriety tests, answer questions, blah blah blah. Get arrested and driven to police station. Fill out everything. 45 minutes after initial arrest I blow a .041, as expected. Every step of the way every fiber of me was screaming LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER LAWYER but I knew I wasn't drunk so I just rolled with it.

End of the night cop gives me ticket for speeding and failure to stop instead of like 10 things. Tells me to show up to court to fight it. Being white and being able to turn on politeness is nice.

I'm very annoyed, but at the same time, I'm turning 30 in 3 months. Maybe it's time I stop driving exactly like I did when I was 16.

How do you blow a .04 and fail the FST?

I got pulled over a few years ago for a 62 in a 45 after leaving the bar. Probably the lowest part of my life and dumbest thing I've done. Left my wristbands on and got asked if I had been drinking. Decided to be halfway honest and told him I had 9 or 10, which was still a lie but more believable than anything less. They asked me to do the FST. During the HGN test he gets a funny look on his face and asks when my last drink was, replied "Last call" with 0 idea of the current time. 3 more cruisers roll up to watch me do the test. Do the line walk, and then the foot lift and he tells me to stop at around 26 seconds and says I'm just getting a speeding ticket. Amazed I didn't have to do breathalyzer, as I was pretty sure I was going to jail. Taxis from then on for me.

I am completely flat footed, on like 5 hours of sleep, and wearing shoes with zero support. I aced the balance thing 100% but I can't walk in a straight line at any time of day regardless of situation. My gait is very weird. Couple that with being tired as fuck with dry contacts in having me blinking 1000x/sec while following pen, I can understand it.

I am genuinely a good and safe driver after all these years. I only go for a bit of fun when I know it is safe to. But I guess public roads in general are prob not the best place (someone's dog could be on the loose or some random shit. Would feel like such shit if I hit an animal).

Track days are more expensive than I can afford right now though. Another check mark in the "sell out and go to industry" category.

She's fixed. My mom says she has heard cats fighting in the neighbors yards and has called to her, but she won't come. Hopefully it means she is still alive and in the area, but she just won't come. My mom has been leaving the porch (my cats favorite spot) door open with food inside, but it doesn't seem like it's getting eaten. ;; Her collar has my mom's info on it so I am paying someone finds her with it. Their documents are in our storage and I can't get to it until Saturday so I can tell my mom her micro chip number.

I have a long commute to work, normally takes about an hour and a half based on traffic. After about 3 hours at work, the wife calls crying and freaking out. The car won't start (the one we just paid off last month 2012 ford focus), and she doesn't know what to do. She has 3 depositions today and she needs to be there. After letting her know that there is no possible way i can make it back home in time for her to use my car to make it, i tell her i'm on my way to help and she should call our insurance carrier, who does random things like check battery and if needed, calls a tow truck. She also calls her work to have someone fill in for her.

Half way home, she calls and says the battery is fine and the guy said he would call a tow and it should be there in 30 mins. I beat him there, do the normal husband thing to try and keep her from crying. I go to the car and try and turn it on and it gives an error "Parking assist module error, please service". This is when she gets really mad because the car isn't equip with parking assist, and starts yelling that it's ," Bullshit something my car doesn't have, is keeping it from starting!" While i agree, it takes me another 10 mins to calm her down again. It's at this point, she gets a call, auto recording, asking when her if the service tow was there and how well did the person do. She tries to figure out how to tell the automated system no one showed up, but it thanks her for her comments and hangs up.

As you guys can guess, she got made again..... she calls the company back and freaks out on them, and they told her they are sending someone asap..... in 30 mins..... They ask where she wants it taken, and she tells them the closes place that can work on this kind of problem is the dealership (Called like 10 places too, no one wanted to touch anything dealing with the computer) which is 11 miles away. Tow lady tells her it will be 15 dollars extra for that distance as it is outside the 10 miles they do for free based on our insurance..... She didn't blow up like i thought she was about to, but just paid it.

Guy shows up, turns out her car now doesn't want to shift into neutral. The guy kept talking about a release somewhere but can't seem to find it. After about 10 mins, i put my key into the car, hold the brake, and after a few lit tugs it slipped into neutral. Because of this, i was unable to take my key out until it was put back into park, and even after getting it in neutral once, it will not go back unless the key was in it...... so i left the key in the car while we got it on the truck to tow. During this time, i'm still remoted into my computer at work using my phone, so i ask her to drive my car to the dealership so i can keep an eye on my work computer in case i'm needed. She starts going that way, and when we are almost there, she spaces out and misses the exit..... and the next exit is almost 5 miles down the road.... she is not happy about this......and the tears flow again.

It is at this time i'm really starting to feel sorry for her, because this is turning out to be a really bad day for her, first world bad day anyways.

We finally get turned around and back on track. We get to the dealership, and of course they tell us they don't know when they can get it in because it is so late in the day (Started around 9am for her, it took us almost 4 hours to get the people there, tow it, etc). She understands, but bitches to me about how it should of been here earlier if the tow people didn't suck. Tow guy comes up for use to sign the release and takes off. I go back tot he car to remote back into my work computer and do a few things while she gets her car checked in. She comes up to the door in tears again..... all i can think of is what could possible be the problem. "Did the tow guy give you the key to my car?". I respond with , "No.... ". She ends up having to call the guy, who says he left it in the car seat.... which it wasn't. I looked, she looked, the car dealership guy looked.... it takes him almost 20 mins to get back. He goes and looks... can't find it... After another 20 mins of this bullshit, he finally says they will pay for another key (Around 250 dollars for this key) We leave, and go home.

I think its over. Even if the car costs a lot of fix, o well, we are not hurting too bad for money, but at least the problems can stop, nothing can make her cry anymore, because the only thing that should be told to us is to come get your fixed and working car. The tow person calls (Not driver, the company owner) and asks her to double check all our pockets and everything. She tells her she did, and the owner then tries to pull the sympathy card, tell her that this will have to come out of the guys pocket. She tells him that maybe they should help him with that, instead of trying to guilt their customers into paying for someone else's mistake. The owner asked her, "Why would we help, we were not ever there", in which she responds, "Why would i pay for it, i didn't lost the key.".

It is at this point that i know something bad is about to happen. I close the connection to my work computer, and i start looking up the phone number to her favorite restaurant.

The owner ends the call with this, "Well, if you could just have your Son double check his pockets."......

She ends the call, looks me in the eye, and yells in tears, "THEY THINK YOUR MY FUCKING SON!!!"
