Old landlord sent me a bill for carpet replacement. $160 after they subtracted the $200 deposit. I lived there for 5.5 years and it wasn't new carpet when I moved in. When I did move in I submitted the acceptance card with carpet stains listed on the card, so hopefully they didn't toss that. I don't plan on paying because it was already stained when I moved into the apartment.

It was a requirement of the lease to turn it in, but I understand what you are saying. On the other hand, in the event it goes to small claims court, they would have to prove the damages.

Depending on where you live, anything past 4 years on a carpet is considered normal wear and tear. Our first apartment our cats did a number on the carpet, but 3 years living there + 2 year old carpet = they ate the entire cost as normal wear and tear as they had to replace it anyways.

That was part of my argument, i knew apartment grade carpet has a life of 7 years and I lived there for 5.5. I asked what the age of the carpet when I moved in and she said 1 yr. I just laughed and said I wasn't paying it and they would have to prove the damages over more than just their word. She crumbled and said they had no pictures. Wanting to avoid the headache of trying to get a $200 deposit from 2010, we settled pretty quickly.

Went to the store to buy some stuff for food prep and portioning. Needed a new scale, some measuring cups and gladware containers. Then I thought to stop by the in-store pharmacy to pick up some Bronkaid to use for EC stack and to try and shake a lingering cough. Didn't think much of it until I was on the road of how it looked buying meds with ephedrine along with the other items. Probably got put on some watch list now lol.
