Then I'm over here laughing my ass off when they complain how they never get sleep, have money or time for themselves. I'm excited that being childfree by choice is becoming more mainstream. No one should feel obligated to fucking procreate.

Yes definitely agreed on this. Like if I just want to get in my car and go the most I have to worry about is do my cats have food and water while I'm gone, do I have time off, OK I'm good!

I've seen enough shit with my older sisters having kids they had no business having at all anyway. My Disneyland trips are all kids I can take.

I don't like most of the "childfree" groups I've come across. Making it an identifier pisses me off.

I mean yeah, sometimes parents complain about things they can't do, or the lack of sleep, or whatever. But most of the time, they're just venting and that doesn't mean they regret their choice to have kids, so shaming them for that decision is kind of a dick move.

Just something I've seen (not necessarily on BG), the people who don't want kids acting like they're superior to the people who do. Kind of like atheists who act superior to theists for literally no reason.

I agree with you. The shoe goes on both feet for this argument. There's a lot of imposing assholes out there. Nosy people in general are fucking annoying.

My parents are both in their mid 60s and have been dropping not subtle hints about wanting grandkids, I've almost convinced them that my dog is the closest thing they are going to get from me.

I'm not in any child-free groups because mostly it seems like a circle jerk of people being pissy about kids in general. I like kids to a degree. They can be cute or fun to talk to while I'm at work. I just can't stand all the posts about "This MOMBIE (momzie? idfk) came in and her child was a HELLION because it CRIED over something TRIVIAL." Shit, that's more annoying than children themselves. Or about how someone told them "they'd change their minds" and they felt SO offended that someone couldn't POSSIBLY imagine a woman NOT having kids." Like, really? Don't you got better things to worry about than what some random mom said to you about kids? Like, shit. I'm surprised people get so mad about these things.

But like Astylla, I don't want my own. And if I had the money, I'd opt for a hysterectomy rather than a tubal.

Edit: Since I think I've posted here before about my 20yr. old sister already starting to pop them out, she posted a pregnant photo of her and my mom recently with these gang-looking bandannas over their faces (as a joke, at least) and her belly all sticking out and I swear to you guys I could reach front page if I put that shit on r/trashy. I've never felt so ashamed.
