Scenario: future 2 year old has your relatively new jordans in his mouth trying to nom on them with his baby teeth. Do we see tyven on the nightly news for allegedly murdering the kid?
I dislike kids.. Almost all of them save for a few close friends in very limited doses. So I relate on that end with a small number of people but yes I definitely agree the overall mentality in said groups can be like any other asshole.
I was planning on having a hysterectomy this year but still dealing with workman's comp so as long as I can actually go back full time at one point I still want it fucking done.
It's not just because of not wanting kids but it's a big part of it along with a slew of medical reasons.
my child will have their own jordans to chew on. it will be glorious
I'd like to be a dad, but you need someone to procreate with for that, so I'll settle for being the best granduncle ever. I am gonna spoil those boys rotten.
Exactly. There are pros and cons to every choice in life and there are some frustrating things about being a parent but some really great things too. I respect people who choose not to have kids but I couldn't imagine my life without my son. It is the weirdest thing ever to imagine what it was like before him like my brain doesn't want to acknowledge he wasn't there.
On a side note it was really entertaining watching my son chat up our cute young waitress tonight. On his own, first he told her that her lip color was pretty. Then he asked her to come over to his house to eat home made pizza with fresh basil from our garden (his words). Then he qualified it by saying that she could come over once he was bigger like his daddy. Lol.
For how much shit we give each other, I'm not sure I've seen Bane. I'm too lazy to scour through bg to find any, you win this round Bane
I already started trimming the beard. Got sick of looking at myself and thinking "what a neckbeard i bet he has a fedora"
Considering cutting the hair after this year's renaissance festival. My hairline is receding pretty quickly, and I've always said that if it gets to the point where it looks like I'm doing a comb-over, I'm cutting it, because fuck comb-overs. Idk. Not quite there yet, I think.
Wardrobe... clothes are expensive, man. I do have some newer T-Shirts though. Reading Rainbow and Star Citizen and whatnot. And there's always the copious number of button-up shirts I've inherited. I should probably go through and donate a bunch of the stuff I don't wear often.
As for the Lego collection, it takes up half my bedroom. It's gonna come up eventually. Not usually something I bring up right away, though. Biggest snag I hit with conversation is "What do you do for a living?" because there aren't a lot of ways to say "I'm on disability." without coming off as pathetic. At least not with an invisible illness, anyway.
You are a master LEGO engineer.
Unless she's into that, then you've got it made.
If you can't fix it, own it.
I'm upfront that I'm chronically unemployed, and while I'm sure it reduces the frequency of dates (and especially second dates, from talking with the ones that are honest about nixing things), it does not stop them.
And you do have that kids lego thing to go with. "I can't do X, so I do Y instead."
Hmm. That's a good idea. Now I just have to actually be in the presence of single women not related to me.
OKCupid man. It's not as good as it was, and I'm sure prospects in MN are thinner on the ground than out here in L.A.
But if you're honest and smart about how and which questions you answer, you will find decent matches. No guarantee of replies, but you will find them.
omg Abandon, I didn't even realize that. Awesome.
Lego thing wouldn't bother me. Job thing might though, if I was being supa-honest.
You need to find ways to better yourself while you're on disability if you want to get around the whole "not-working" issue. When I was unemployed, I still landed dates fairly frequently because I was actively improving myself in some way. Most women just want a guy that's ambitious and doesn't sit on his ass all day, that's what it comes down to. If you can say "Yeah I'm on disability, but I'm working on X while I am" then you'll have far better luck.
And no, legos don't count.
