Getting Old Brill, getting old
Getting Old Brill, getting old
Yeah, but there's no 24 hour line for anything except maintenance. And I'm sure I'd have gotten bitched at if I called the emergency maintenance line for that. I may call the office tomorrow and find out what I'm supposed to do in this case. I guess assigned parking is fucking useless if they're not prepared to enforce it. I'm sure people have gotten shot for much less.
This isn't a terrible neighborhood but you bet that first thing this morning I stepped outside to ensure no one had flattened my tires or keyed my truck. I'll admit I was a fucking dick last night (not that I was entirely unjustified), but people hate being told they're wrong and will stoop to fucking petty revenge just to prove a point.
My wife and I recently relocated for work and moved into an apartment complex. It's somewhat similar to how you've explained your place and for that reason I try to keep a low profile because of the second half of this quote. We do not have assigned parking (no car ports) so I can't say I personally understand your pain. I would suggest next time writing down the plate and giving it to the office. I'm not sure that would do any actual good, but it's safer than causing a scene or having a crazy slash your tires!
I've never lived somewhere with assigned parking thankfully, cuz that shit would definitely make me shoot someone.
Believe me, the thought crossed my mind.
She's giving it the 1 year and 2 months long "father" his last name instead of ours and the last name of the name of the man who raised her.
Sigh, they aren't married and I mean, how often do couples who fucking oopsy a baby 6 months into their relationship actually stay together? And now the kid has his fucking name. Awesome. Great.
This is nearly the same scenario my mom had: 17, preggo, didn't get married, gave me his last name. Then my stepdad, bless his soul, adopted me and we had to go through courts to get my name legally changed when I was around 10.
But no, sister wants to repeat all the mistakes and make all the wrong decisions. Fuck I hate my family.
Edit: I'm not even fucking happy for her. I haven't said congratulations on your new kid. I realize I am a horrible sister but fuck it.
We see this shit every day especially weekends with parking. Thankfully our reserved spot is a garage that never gets blocked due to its location. However people park their vehicles or secondary in visiting so real visitors never have anywhere.
One night some idiot college age cuntbags who treat this place like their dorm were being loud as fuck past 10pm on a weekday.
They were stumbling around, reeked of weed and dry humping in the parking lot. I yelled down " Thanks for giving me a reason to call the cops and file a complaint".
They thought it was because they were illegally parked and I just laughed at myself as they panicked. No its because I fucking have a job I need to be awake for at 7am. They got more complaints after that yet still get away with it. I have however witnessed eviction notices recently on some doors.
We keep a low profile overall and I don't really care what people do in their homes but once it affects my quality of life fuck them.
That's basically how I feel about it. Like you guys want to have loud sex next door? Fine, I'll just turn the TV up a bit louder. You guys want to have a party on a weekend? Cool, it's the weekend, I can sleep a bit later. You guys want to scream at each other in the parking lot? Okay for that I will call the cops, because domestic violence is no fucking joke and you brought it out into the parking lot so it's now my business. But for the most part, I keep to myself and I live pretty quietly. The walls here are pretty thin so I'm sure someone has heard me belting showtunes/Disney at least a few times, but the people in this building seem to have an understanding that we're all living here and a little noise is not a big deal.
It's the people in the building across the lot that I have the problem with, and no big shocker, the parking guy was visiting someone in the other building. They're the ones that always seem to have loud domestic disputes or people out revving their engines in their cars for no fucking reason other than to be douchebags. I don't know how the complex managed to put all the asstards in one building, but they did it somehow.
Times like these make me wish I owned a house, but I'm not so delusional to think that I wouldn't have any problems. I'd just have different (and more expensive) ones.
For having an old building built in the 60s likely these walls are pretty fucking soundproof. I can only hear people if it's insanely loud or walking out in front on the walkway. Also being on the top floor is everything in apartment living lol.
Thankfully my neighbor downstairs is very relaxed, to the left and right are quiet overall.
In fail of mine, I fucking got zero sleep due to various things. I had to wake up and pee at least 6 times since midnight, horrible nightmares about my ex all night and this morning my cat kept walking on my face waking me up.
Edited for clarity..
And here I though I was disturbed.
Guess there's always stranger then yourself
Chances are that the emergency line goes to whoever drew the short straw in the maintenance department for on-call that week. You won't get anywhere calling the maintenance line. We tell our tenants to deal with it themselves or wait until business hours. I can't do anything about getting a car towed out of your parking space even if I wanted to, which I don't. I have the emergency phone just in case your apartment floods. I don't give a damn if you have to walk 6 blocks to your apartment.
And unfortunately, the attitude that most apartment maintenance personnel have.
It's tricky though because maintenance can't really enforce rental policies. It's shitty though because people are rarely held responsible in apartment complexes for their breach of contracts. We luckily have someone on site who's the manager so if shit goes really bad I know whose door I'm knocking on or at least leaving multiple notes and messages for.
For awhile we literally had a tow service available to call in case of people illegally parked but they stopped that. If you can't get into your space though due to illegal parking take photos, license plates and present it to the managers. If they refuse to take reasonable action to prevent it eventually they can be held liable.
Fuck back issues, I fell last Monday and still in a ridiculous amount of pain even with muscle relaxers and ibuprofen.
I'm thinking of seeing a chiropractor since my doctors won't see me since nothing is broken. Blargh.
EDIT: Should not have both threads open at the same time
