What the fuck was their thought process? They did not even think that I would ask where the door was. Let alone that I could see the charred hardware on the back patio from the bedroom window where the door belongs...
Also, they had a cat there that was not on the lease and they did not pay a pet deposit. Their story: There must be a hole in our basement or something because these cats keep coming in our house. Again, I could smell the fucking cat litter from the front door. You are not fooling anyone and I probably would not have even said anything about a freakin cat until your dumbass lied to me. I made them spend the next 30 minutes helping me ostensibly look for a hole in their basement. What I was really doing was documenting everything else they had fucked up.
Protip: If you rent, don't lie to the maintenance guy that comes into your home. We are not stupid and you will only cause yourself harm. If you are honest and it is no big deal, it is not worth my time to do anything about minor violations. It's not really my job and I don't want to spend my time on it.
These idiots are looking at $800 for the broken shit plus a pet deposit. And that is only if the PM does not decide to kick them out for destruction of property.
