Edit: I get about 2-4 sinus infections every year that are accompanied with sinus headaches, I'll lose countless nights sleep because of the pain involved with them, the pain is second to only the cluster headaches I suffer, but those are an entire other can of worms.

When I try to sleep, I can feel as my entire sinus shift depending on what side I've moved my head on the pillow, the pressure is unreal and relentless.

Yeah this is a feeling I'm very familiar with. The sinuses shifting and and the eventual moment when you get your sinuses to drain after hours of near scalding myself in the shower, saline sprays, steroid sprays (only as necessary cuz they can make it work) etc etc etc. shit sucks.

I didn't see it mentioned, have you tried using pseudoephedrine? I don't use it all the time, and it only lasts about 4 hours, but that stuff works wonders for me when I have sinus infections. The only annoying thing about it now is you have to sign for it because meth heads love using it to cook. Shit is cheap too if you get the generic Sudafed little red pill packs. It also has never made me bleed from the asshole from decades of use.

I use Flonase for every kind of nasal problem now and consequently haven't gotten a cold in quite a while. I feel that previously I would get kind of low level nasal irritation (inflammation) that would keep stuff in my nose for too long and make it vulnerable to further infection. Knocking out the inflammation seems to have made me much more resistant to colds.

In US Navy lingo (and other branches as well, I'm guessing), "Vitamin M" is Motrin, meaning that if one shows up at medical without copious blood discharging, or missing bits, one is likely to be sent away with OTC pain medication and little else.

In my experience, it was just as likely that one would receive a 'cold pack' with OTC Motrin/decongestants/lozenges.

Yes, you're right. The reason you feel more resistant to colds is because you're actually clearing shit out of your nose now that it's not inflamed constantly.
