Our damned stove just did something weird when I shut if off. It emitted a sound of what I would describe as an electrical whooshing sound, then smoke (and maybe a little flame) came up from the back. I pulled it out, unplugged it and took the back off. There does appear to be a scorch mark on the circuit board behind the LCD panel that has all the controls.
The fail is that the Sears in my area only has one technician... who only does Monday appointments... who has no availability until the 21st of December. We were expecting to be out of town that week, but I made the appointment and got placed on a cancellation list.
It seems to still work for everything we do with it, but I'm not leaving it plugged in. I'm very glad we purchased the 5yr extended warranty. They had a deal going that if we didn't use it (which we did here, but got a different extended warranty on all our appliances) we get an in store cash card or something for the value or half the value of the coupon. Hopefully nothing else will go wrong with out other appliances.
Military guys like their coffee retard strong.
Not sure if like is the right term... more like get used to dealing with the kids who have never had to make anything in their lives making it lol.
How's the cadence go... "They say that in the Navy, the coffee's mighty fine
It looks like muddy water, and tastes like turpentine"
I'm in my 30's and have never made a pot of coffee in my life. Not liking the stuff contributes, sure, but it doesn't at all shock me a teenager or even older wouldn't know how to do it.
Coffee is pretty easy. The machine takes all the guesswork out.
I can't be bothered to make it and just buy cases of this
I've made coffee twice (both times in a french press) which, after adding the grounds, was left in control of the guest I was preparing for to press and pour.
My 15 year old niece didn't know how to microwave a hot dog, and she gets good grades in school. Not sure how such simple tasks are so hard for some, but I live it every day when on the phone for my job. People calling to make a car reservation are totally lost for words when I'll ask them what day and time they would like to come in. Boggles my mind.
So start riding to work and it's a bit overcast but doesn't look like rain for awhile... wind starts blowing the raining clouds my way and pretty soon it's a downpour and I'm drenched. 20 minutes later the wind has pushed the clouds past us and now sun is shiny and it's warming up good but since it just rain it's super humid so feels uncomfortable
Ordered an SSD on 24th through Newegg, sent to DHL on the 25th, didn't update afterward. Live chat today since they never responded to my email on the 30th, and they offered to investigate it for 3-5 days, then ship 7-10 days after that.
Requested a refund instead after that, and they said my money would be returned in 3-5 days as well. Amazon from now on I guess. Shame I've spent ~$5k on Newegg over the years and have never had any issues.
My bank does forced online password resets like every 3-4 months. I don't use it too often, but when I do, it's usually just to check my balance. Go to log in, wrong password. Ugh, okay. Try another, nope. Third, not that, either. LOCKED OUT CALL BANK NAO! Call in to get a reset, woman says servers are funky, wait 20m, then try. No go. Call again about an hour later. They say they don't do the mandatory resets anymore, but I'm like whatever because I had it saved here. I reset and change my password, log in, all seems good. Grab my phone, load up my app, try to log in there. Wrong password. Fine, maybe I fat-fingered the software keyboard. Wrong password on try two. Put my phone down, go back to my browser, carefully enter my new password. Wrong password. Locked out again.
Guess I'll call back in 6 months when their servers get their shit together maybe.
End of the work day and the California employment agency next door called the cops because of an unattended backpack in the parking lot. Bomb squad called in. At least the cops allowed me to drive off of our lot and I didn't get stuck at work late on a Friday. Sucks for my coworkers who park at the employment agency (because company is cheap, I already ranted in the poopdeck how cheap my multibillion dollar company is)
Holy fucking drama now I know why the business office at our dealership is so bitchy. I'm in the service side and literally just heard all these women bitch about the most idiotic shit as if I'm in high school in the women's bathroom. I'm so thankful my office is laid back and supportive rather than this fucking drama.
