In Florida at least, your employer is required to give you time off for jury duty, and the courts will reimburse you at least the state minimum hourly wage for however long you spend. If your job that you are missing makes you significantly more than minimum wage, you can petition for more money from the court and/or selection dismissal.

I've got a good job and we get time off for jury duty as needed but had to put it off last year due to recovery from carpal tunnel surgery as is.

I use the website but again since there's no guarantee if I need to go or not and transit can be funky I'll have to take the day off regardless. Just sucks because I just came back fulltime and gave literally worked only 1 full week due to vacations , illness and holidays lol

Company deciding they've been overpaying me for 3 months and are now seeking to garnish my wages WHILE lowering my hourly rate: Hahaaaa fuck you.

I asked for a copy of the contract and/or email that detailed my hourly rate, because I don't have either in my records. I'm not paying them shit if nobody has a record of me being paid lower than what I'm being paid. I'll take the pay reduction if I have to, but I'm not paying out 50% of each paycheck if I don't have a signed legal document stating my going rate.

I'm banking on them fucking up. I have the signed contract and an email from the agency talking about the position, but neither of these things mention how much I'm being paid.

So our bookkeeper who does all are payroll and such has been claiming that the program she uses can't add in vacation days as we get them... though magically it can add sick days as we get them and she can take vacation days out as we get them <.<. This ends up being a bit problem because she just adds some big amount at once but not the same time each year and not even the same number of times each year making me doubt her ability to add when she wants even more. This is further compounded by the fact she just seems to add some weird random amount when she does. As far as I can tell she is trying to add the net amount I'd get counting the ones I've used but doesn't quite do it correctly. This fail is further compounded by the fact she actually takes days out as I use them in the first place.

To give an example of how far off it gets about 1.5 years ago I started keeping my own account... since then I should have net gained 6 days since I'm taken a bit less vacation then I've gained. But instead I'm 7 less and this margin continues even when she adds a bunch in... partly because she subtracts most them out the next pay period.

No idea never actually met her. And yeah she adds stuff and takes stuff out other times so pretty sure it's bs. It's small locally owned business so no PR department but the boss knows it's crap and is about ready to look for another. I'm fairly certain the boss would take my word and let me take the time... assuming we had enough people to support it lol. Never thought about other employees could check though I'd imagine it would be worse than just my workmates since pretty sure she does it for more than just our business of 5 employees

Lights are off blinds close which is fairly noticeable with it being overcast. Door locked and still after they can't get in they start knocking like idiots. Of course boss is like well if they are here... Then we just had someone who wanted to schedule us to come out on Christmas day and kept asking why we couldn't. Nigga we shred documents if that shit can't wait then you are doing some super shady shit

Reminds me of when I worked at Walmart, fucking christmas eve, this person somehow walked into the store 60 minutes after we closed (probably snuck in when some people got let out) and got pissed off that we wouldn't ring her up. My supervisor told her look, we got family's to go home to, we can't stay open all night christmas eve and the cunt bag actually had the balls to say I don't care if you have family to get home to, you will ring me up.

Seriously done my time just as long before this job. I try to be especially understanding and kind to people, customers and coworkers and retail people but fuck some people.

I work in service at a dealership now with zero face to face interaction and people still demand to see me to complain we aren't open Christmas Eve , Christmas and New Year's Day.

Setting reservations for Enterprise and I've had a shitload of people go nuts we weren't open on Thanksgiving and aren't open on Christmas. The thing that kills me is they want to return on Christmas but we're closed, so I say they can return the following day which would be another day charged. They go ballistic like I'm creating crimes against humanity.
