So more and more of our clients are starting to decide they wont open till 9-10 am not even for us to do work for them. Which must be nice for them to be able to come to work that late but we can't just start later since otherwise some places would end up being closed before we finish... at first we tried to work it around start in other areas etc but enough people are doing it that some days basically have to schedule a ton of backtracking which we also don't really have time to do

I need to vent..And this might be urgent. My roommates own a cat. Cat is VERY bony, wheezing, big stomach, having trouble walking, jumping, breathing. Sleeps a lot. I have no fucking idea what to do. It's gotten pretty bad the last couple days but watching her try to jump onto the bed is breaking my heart.

I also just texted them that's really bad now and she said they're coming back tomorrow and that she's taking her as soon as she can.

Then I realized the cat has been peeing on my bed all day. (She really don't move places much.) Bright yellow pee. I tell roommates, she says fuck their bed too but they thought it was the dog. They offered to buy me new sheet which is nice and I am going to take them up on this but at the moment I have no idea what to do about the cat. Who knows what else she's been urinating on, and how close to death she might be.

I know it may seem heartless, but this is a big reason I do not own pets and am very unsure of ever doing so. I have no idea what to do, feel bad for the cat, but am grateful it's not mine...

Spayed, shouldn't be pregnant for more information.

@Kuro I'm pretty sure the peeing is liver failing. So yes. Anyway, here's a long fucking update.

OK, cat update and story time for anyone interested. Part of me just wants to write this all out.

At about 11 PM last night I noticed the cat was having even more difficulty than usual moving around. Kinda pausing while trying to maneuver my covers on the bed. She likes my bed cause I have soft blankies. ; ; I notice some bright yellow spots and immediately realize she's been peeing because of either not being able to make it to the box or just bladder issues.

Unsure what to do, I text the rooms and I put her in the bathroom with the dog's bed, water, food and a mini towel to cover her up. She makes a couple puddles in there in only a couples hours. Mostly just laying down.

I grab all the sheets, blankets, random clothes I had on my bed, the bed cover, etc. and start washing. Start trying to sanitize/clean the actual mattress. Start cleaning the kitchen. Clean inside of fridge, run dishwasher. I'm in freak-out panic mode that this cat is going to die last night. I'm freaking out that I am watching an animal suffer that I have no way of truly helping. (For some reason this REALLY bothered me. I'm not the owner or one responsible for the cat and my ties have been only a couple months. I'm not in love with it as some pet owners get or anything, but I do care for it to some extent. I just could not handle having this animal die, basically.)

I call James, a friend who works as IT for a Vet Emergency center to get his input/possibly ask for a ride. He suggest calling his center and a rivals to get information/talk to an actual doctor. I didn't ask but as I can't take the cat anywhere myself, but I know if I needed him to, he'd come help take her somewhere.

But I call the vet places and get prices and locations and basic info. They all say the same, she's likely got worms, a cat disease, liver failure or all of it. They say to come in if I can or if she seems she can hold out the night to get her to a vet today (that's the plan.)

At this point it's about 3 AM, and I'm still wide awake. Load 1 is done, but my main warm blanket is still in load 2. Still not wanting to start making the bed, I lay everything out on the couch and wipe it down (who knows, cat sits there often, and I'm not mad about it, just trying to be clean and do things) and try to set up a couple pillows on the couch to use it to sleep.

I e-mail my work a rather lengthy e-mail about the situation. It's NYE/NYD and I have to work at 11 and drive a truck. Not ideal with the lack of sleep it looks like I am going to get. I feel horrible. More stress. I don't want to dip work. But I don't want a dead cat or for her to suffer all day without the rooms coming home. I'm also mentally and physically too exhausted to do good work.
4 AM, I lay down. Try to sleep. I'm not good with sleeping on couches. Awful. I shoulda made the bed, but too stubborn to do so and really waiting for daylight to once-over the bed and sheets before using them.

6:30 AM Mom and dad on the east coast wake up and calls me for an update and to comfort me. Thanks mom and dad. Seriously.

Try to get back to sleep after phone call. Manage about 2 hours of dozing.
Wake up about 9, shooting back pains from laying down wrong.

I'm checking on the cat continuously throughout this (I didn't just toss her in there and leave her.) and she's doing about the same as the last few days, which is alive but... not good.

Work got back to me. I'm needed for the delivery but not the shift. Thank god, and thank Buca. Throughout the last year since I have been trying to be a better job for them and do pick-ups for them, the managers at both locations have helped me with my schedule and when problems arise. I need to thank them in some way. (Thoughts on this appreciated if anyone got this far. )

Rooms should be home around 4pm today. "Maybe." Main owner of cat mentions she's had this "cold" since they got her a year ago. (Sigh.)

And now I'm writing all this out because I can't go back to sleep, work in an hour, and finally destressing from it all. If they can't make it back today, I am taking her to the clinic. Pretty sure I have friends who can help with that after my delivery.

My rooms aren't friends of mine on FB even though they are decent people and I, in no way, want to make them seem like bad people, but I do not think they should have pets. The litter box has not been actually emptied and cleaned since I moved in. Only scooped and more litter added. I am sure this is not good. I am also sure they don't want to traverse the land mine back patio that is littered with the dog's poop from being let out there to do his business. I should take a picture. Not more than two steps in any direction. They also have this huge bag of cat food that's left open, with the corner cut so you can dip the bowl in. I am no cat-food scientologist but I am assuming you want a container for any kind of food so that air isn't continuously getting into it? I could be wrong on that, I have no idea.

I'd like to say that while this was frustrating and angering, I was never mad at the cat. (Something that I feel might have happened to old-Heather) The frustration I felt is towards the lack of responsibility my rooms have for their pets. And also a little towards me because I have known there's a problem with the cat for a while and as a bystander I should have said/done something sooner. unsure emoticon
So anyway. That's the story of my first night into 2016. I'm still worried but I have a plan and more information. I'll keep you updated on Cali (cat's new name because she's a beautiful Calico.).

Thanks to my family, James and Patrick (the fact that my dad's name is James Patrick is quite comical in this, too, or maybe that's the lack of sleep) for all responding, comforting me, and giving advice. These are all people who have owned cats responsibly and I appreciate that you all cared about not just me but Cali.

Uh, yea. That's it. Gonna call the local vets now, I guess. Happy New Year's!

It needs formula, which can be given using a dropper.

Roomies came home and are taking cat (seriously, I call it cat, I don't know it's name...) to emergency vet. Probably to be put down, but I really do think that's for the best.
