Just got my internship placement. First, it's stupid far from my apartment, all the way in fucking Palm Harbor, and second, it's middle school when I specifically asked for high school. Goddammit. This completely shat on my excitement for internship.

I'm not familiar with the "rules" of internships so forgive my questions.

Isn't it just a preference not a gurantee in regards to the grade level in this case ?

I thought the point of internships was to get a foot in the door for gainful employment. While not always ideal it's a necessary step.

With that said do you have options of seeking others out or is it just " here it is like it or not "?

I mean I get the disappointment and commutes aren't the best but maybe you'll enjoy it more than you think.
You could also be miserable which I thought was the point of being an intern ( half joking..).

I'm worried about the gas. I had barely enough money to travel to see my kids but I took the chance because it's been so long. Having it that far pretty much ensures that I'm going to run out of money before I get my loan disbursement.

Also, I never wanted to teach middle school. Always high school, from the beginning. I had to teach middle school kids for one course and that was enough. Now I'm stuck there for the next 3 months. I'm not going to get hired at this school anyway because it will be the end of the school year when I graduate so employment is moot. I really wanted something that would be more relevant experience for what I'm hoping to do when I graduate.

Literally the thought of dropping out crossed my mind, which is fucking stupid of course because I'm so close, but that's how much I don't want to teach middle school.

I'm so fucking tired this morning. Nightmares have been some of the worst all week and woke up at 1am with what felt like food poisoning. I didn't sleep again until after 2:30am and my jerk cat knocked shit off my dresser waking me up around 5:30am and couldn't fall back asleep.

Its going to be a long day.

I'm sure it exists, but my understanding is that Alberta doesn't have as large a French populace as Quebec or New Brunswick. My information could be out of date though.

It had it, as I've used it before. Firefox has just been annoying me more and more lately. At work I've noticed it gets a horrible memory leak and with 4 tabs if I don't close it every few hours, will get up to about 1.5+gb of memory being used on top of what the flash plugin is using.
