Autocorrect took the wheel on that one.
Autocorrect took the wheel on that one.
"because I can't get the damn thing out" is an acceptable reason to pass it along.
It's not bad enough it's Monday but both managers are out and one if my coworkers after every fucking call has to add personal commentary. No fucking patience today.
I actually have to show up for jury duty tomorrow ugh.
Sucks to be you. I also had a jury summons, but thankfully I don't have to show up because the person must have made a plea deal or something. Do your best to sound egotistical and intelligent, maybe bring a book, and you won't get picked. Lawyers (both prosecutors and defenders) want simpering morons who are easily manipulated on their juries.
Never shown up once.
Ever.
Never get letters anymore.
Most of the ones in the Bronx that I've seen have to do with slip and falls relating to construction work (either private or city). Working for a city contractor I get off immediately.
i think it is crazy that u live in the bronx wow are you the only white person? your street cred must be thru the roof
Riverdale is way white.
Also, per the 2013 demos, Bronx is 45% white.
It's funny, actually, as a few blocks south of me is Fieldston which is multimillion dollar homes, the school that most of the celebs in the area send their kids to (Riverdale Country School), and other rich white people shit. A few blocks north is South Broadway in Yonkers (Westchester County) which is a terrible place to live both for the quality of life issues as well as crime.
In the middle is me and a bunch of Russian consuls and crap trying to blend in with the Jews and Micks. Okay, I AM of Irish decent, but certainly don't look it.
EDIT: However, I work out of Hunts Point which is one of the worst places in NYC. There have been at least 3 shootings at the corner of our building in broad daylight since I started working out of the main office about 3 years ago. There was also a guy that killed himself by tying a chain around a light pole, the over end around his neck, and getting in his car. The apartment building up the block gets raid once a month by the special task force because of the amount of drugs that goes through it. There are hookers on all the corners around our building; they even get invited to the BBQs we have since they make sure people don't break into our cars.
Chris Arnade did a photo album/art thing about Hunts Point. I see these people on a daily basis. Kinda weird looking at it through a website. This is our block, our building is at the other end of this street. This is around the other side of our building. The lot was dug up and is going to be used as a material storage yard by a supply company nearby. Curly parks his RV down the block. He collects scrap metal and sells it to the yard around the corner. Our building is the one on the left at the near corner with the two lights shining down around the roll up gate. Last one, this is Babs (Barbara). She's the head hooker as far as I can tell. She's been doing this shit for years. She put three kids through college. She told me her son "bought her some teeth" (her words) a few Christmases ago.
45% what a nightmare
y'all are making me want to play a Fallout game set in New York.
Curious because I've only been summoned for Jury Duty once and it was easy to get out of "I, uh am moving out of state this weekend." worked well, but if you ignore the letters, don't you get fined? I'd be curious to know if you have anything fined under your name Zet.
Actually, sometimes I'm worried I have fines under my name in a few states since I've moved around so often. I dun like thinking about it, lol.
You can be fined, definitely. Think it's like $120 in NYC for missing jury duty. If you miss it a lot they maybe can do something else? I don't really know.
